I've got a 2016 TRD OR suspension I'll be putting on my 2012. Shocks, coils, leafs, all of it with less than 300miles on it. Going to add 1/4 top plate spacers and a Wheelers progressive AAL (I have a Leer cap). Looking forward to the results. For a few hundred bucks I think I'll be happy with it.

I'm new to this.....I have a line on an almost new set of rear Bilstein take-offs from a 2017 TRD. Is it possible to install these on my gen2 2013? I had looked at interchangeability and come to the conclusion that I could not.

Yeah, they will install with no issue. You will get a small lift in the front, around an inch.

What do you mean by shift? Sorry to be a bit of a dolt about this...
I do understand that there is more travel in the gen3 shock. Presumably that causes the bed to sit a bit higher in the back on gen2?

The rear will not change. The front coils are longer, netting about an inch of lift on a 2nd gen.

OK... So if I only install the rear TRD shocks then the truck will sit level as it does now but I'll end up with the better ride the Bilstein's offer over OEM....So no affect on the height of the front unless I replace the front coils at the same time. I guess I should buy them in that case.

I will post alignment sheet after I get home from work.

I don't think it is tires in my case. Had just minor vibration in the pedal between 25 - 35mph right after new suspension was installed about 3 weeks ago, but I was not even sure at the time if I'm just not imaging it reading so much about post lift vibes. In the last few days, I can definitely feel more vibration or rumble through the pedal and floorboard, not huge but getting noticable. Will have it checked this week. Seem so be driving fine in 4hi so I don't think it is wheel bearing.

I agree, this was 3rd of the price of 'next step up' 5100s. For my use, they are perfectly fine. Now that I may have to get ECGS bushing installed, the money I saved helps.

I'll probably go OR takeoffs next time around, just to try something else.

I have '16 OR shocks/springs on my '14 SR5. Leveled out nicely and drives good. I put a ton of miles on my truck, so I didn't want to lift it much or do anything crazy to it. So I felt this was a good compromise. So far the truck has been great hauling bikes to the track, mild offroading and overall diving in all conditions, on my long commutes.

Looks awesome. Good work on painting the spindles - I bought some of that paint. It reminds me of the bedliner with smaller "grit" in it - and $3 less for the same size can.

I'm looking at some 2015 take offs, so the seller says, but they're blue. Did they mean 2016? I assumed the color change happened with the third gens.

I installed 2016 trdor coils, shocks and leafs on my 2011 base single cab 4x4 and it lifted the rear as well as the front. It has a factory rake to it at least 1" taller. Rides a little stiffer since the suspension is meant for a heavier truck, but I like it. I also went from a 3 leaf pack to a 4 leaf so it decreased my squat under load. Install was easy, I just had to fiddle with my jack and jack stands setups to get the rear axle in the right spot.

I am about to swap 2018 OR shocks and front springs onto my 2015 4cyl Acces Cab, waiting on an OR swaybar from a 2015.

The front springs have markings of different colors, which is the drivers side?

Any cheap/good spring compressors you could recommend for the home mechanic b/c I’ll be swapping over my top hats.

Hopefully same for 2018, don't see why it would be different.

I needed longer studs on the top of my coilovers to add a 3/8" spacer , took them to a local shop paid them $30 cash to disassemble and reassemble, worth every cent

Thanks, I think I found the drivers side should be red/green, red/blue is pass side.

I have 2x1/4” spacers if needed for the drivers side for lean or whatever but I’m more excited about the lift I’ll see being a 4-cyl and these are off a new 2018 OR!

Can’t wait to drive it too!

Going to be a week or so as I have to re-tape a door wiring harness on another vehicle before I can tear into the Taco!

Finally got my 2018 TRD OR shocks and front coil springs put on my 2015 4-cyl Access Cab!

04-05 Tundra TRD OR rims and 265/75/R16s.

Love the lift I got. Over an inch up front, also swapped to a OR sway bar from a 2015 and she rides SO much better.

    Getting it aligned tomorrow.

I also have 1” blocks for the rear if it doesn’t settle.

Best pics I could come up with sorry,

Before and after with a PhotoGrid comparison pic,

Oh and FWIW, I used the no spring compressor method and it was a breeze gang! Much easier too if you remove the front sway which I did, probably could just loosen the brackets and remove the end link bolted to the the arm there. But regardless it was super easy!

Better pics with the front shocks installed on the correct sides.

I mixed em up and had to switch em back after I noticed my pass front was well an inch higher than the drivers side. Then a quick check at the dealer on a 2018 OR to confirm the red/green was supposed to be on the drivers side.

Also scored a sweet set of 265 KM2s on 2nd Gen OR wheels.

Running them a while to see how the 2.7 likes the weight. Honestly they feel fine and I’m suprised the truck doesn’t feel any “slower” but a few tanks of fuel may tell the truth!
