And now you land with a dull thud some curses and then you take stock before getting up to see what might be broken lol

That is amazing to me right now be awhile before I see that or green again. Started off at 20 this morning and supposed to get above freezing again today. Yesterday morning found some old still in the package weather stripping and laid it down in front of the garage door. Red neck as hell but worked to keep the wall of water from the melting snow coming in didn't have to wet vac last night. If it starts to leak next step.... duct tape.

Record highs of 50 Friday and Saturday. Ice festival in town and they are freaking out about the ice melting. I'm thinking all the snow should be gone on Saturday and can get a head start of picking up 4 months of dig shit before the snow comes back.

Must be getting old had to pick out my 15 year anniversary gift for work just now. And of all things chose this, chimes and all.

Sometimes feel like I've turned into my grandparents. Damn kids get the hell off the lawn or start picking up dog shit!

    Morning.

Yesterday was fake break-up with temp up to 40°F. Snow returned about 3AM and temps back down to 20s over teens at night for the next week. Dozen or so ditch divers on the inbound side driving home. As I pulled into driveway, radio said accident had shut down both sides of the hwy down by base; glad I got out when I did. ;)

Actually I look around to see if anybody saw me. If not I get up and make believe nothing happened as I bleed out from various wounds :)

I did have a choice of made in China tool sets. And slow cooker, deep fat fryer etc. Knife sets that I already own. Fancy Nancy crystal stuff that I have no idea what they are or what to do with them. So father time won. Hey I optioned out of the company logo on it.

I'm trying to understand why companies do this with the stupid gifts?

As any of us here know, the gov't can be very stupid and highly inefficient, but in this area they make more sense to me. Service time awards are simple pins; bonuses are paid in either time-off awards, money, or both. Why companies don't do something similar, I just don't get? I've heard this "service time/pick a gift" routine before and the people generally comment in some manner on the uselessness and/or quality of the gifts offered. Money, real or in the form of time-off, talks ... the rest seems like BS that people buy off on. No offense intended to anyone ... whenever I hear this it just makes me wonder.

Those I definitely do not miss, neither the meetings, NOR the Colonels like that. :puke:

Probably the same corporate gift company I had when my company went by another name.
They have gifts for service in 5 year increments.
For my 30th, I picked out a Victorinox watch.
When I got it, I swapped it out for another as there's Victorinox HQ a couple towns away.
