I got her a laser site for Christmas but the recoil is so bad for her that she anticipates it before each shot so the laser doesnt really help her.

 

Just remember you get what you pay for. I am not a fan of Taurus because they are so cheap and that worries me. In my mind no one sells a reliable gun for cheap unless they build it poorly but I never shot one, let alone, carry one. I tend to steer clear of those.

 

Don't listen to ANYONE who tells you to get what they have because they love it. No offense, but....that's how you end up with guns that you cant shoot well.


You need to head out with some friends that have all different kinds of guns and figure out what fits your hand, and what you naturally shoot well.


For instance, a buddy of mine has a glock 19 that I cant shoot to save my life. Toss my 1911 in my hand though, and I'm driving tacks at 20 yards or farther. Same goes for my S&W M&P 9mil. I can put that gun up and it indexes really well for me.

I had one for a while, and it was just fine. Shot ok. Felt good taking it apart and then putting it back together. I would still have it except Taurus send out a recall for the PT MILPRO 145. Apparently, if dropped, it may fire.

So, its gone.

 

I would agree with this. We have a mailing list at work and people constantly ask what gun they should buy and everyone tells them test it before hand. Shooting ranges will let you rent guns if you dont have access to a friends to shoot.

The Gen1 had lots of problems from what ive read. The Gen2 they have worked out the issues. Ive put 600 rounds through mine of both cheap and not cheap ammo and never had one issue.

 

I did like my Taurus from the standpoint that, it felt rugged and weighty in my hand. And, if I dropped it, I didn't care. lol.


Carrying my Kimber, I get quite cautious.

 

Thats probably why I would stay away from Taurus. Ive heard enough people say they dont like them or "meh" that they arent worth it for me. But again, to each their own. If a gun is reliable and good to the owner than who am I to judge

 

Yeah, mine shot mostly dirty shitty Tula ammo. lol. Ate it like a champ.

 

I thought Texas was cool.
