That would be Screech. She's the most normal/least troublesome of these hooligans. I raised her from 3 days old. Bottle fed and lost sleep for her and her sister and this is the thanks I get. The one in the dog food was half dead and maybe 3 months old when I found her in my driveway and so she eats until she explodes and is relentless about getting to/into food.

 

I did mine about 5 years ago and it made no difference in my running temps in the Tx Gulf Coast heat. I did ensure that I used a couple of light coats to just "de-silver" the color. While I don't disagree that if can affect the overall heat transfer, since it adds material to the fins whether it actually is enough to make a difference is debatable. The paint, assuming light coat, will be on the leading edge of the fin, and maybe 1/4 or a 1/3 in, so the majority of the fins are uncoated and dissipating heat.

BTW, on my 2nd gen at least, the AC rad is the one in front.

 

I painted that vertical bar on the left side of the radiator.

I tapped off the actually radiator when I did it.

Fuck a bunch of that shit. Check out the retro graphics designs that people use.... they are bad.ass. and you could totally do that and accomplish what you need to with seeing well with glare issues.

My glare is at the trailing edge of the hood, where it meets the cowl. A little on the main center of the hood too, but not much as that trailing edge!

 

Its weird, I don't get ANY glare on the 4runner.

It's a massive PITA because I can tell it's going to happen for about 8-9 months out of the year when the sun is shining bright
