Yep bet it is the same every 5 years. For my 10 picked out a leatherman which gave me 3, I keep that one in the truck.

We get more time off each year too although this is now pretty much my max. Not for profit so no bonus but have received a pay increase each year. One year when it was tight top management gave up their increase so we could get ours. Didn't make a big deal out of they just did it. Good place to work overall and good people plus good management.

We do get pins, plaques, time off, gifts, etc. Pride and reward is a big reason why they do it and after I picked the clock out next page said now I had to pick a Pride gift which was something with a logo on it. LOL they were making sure I got a logo after all. The only down side if there is one is that a few take their seniority time pretty seriously.

Not long after I first started had a guy that they transferred to our group because they couldn't fire him, but didn't want him anymore. I was trying to teach him how to do something and for 20 min. he went on how long he had worked there and all the new people, etc. Finally I couldn't take it anymore and started yelling at him that while he was going home to mama every night for 20 years I was away from home 8-10 months a year sweating my balls off in some God forsaken part of the world playing kill a commie for mama. The more I yelled at him the better it felt and by the time I was done told him that he was lower than whale shit and nothing else in the world is lower than whale shit. Might have been about 5 minutes of other things, ripped him rawer than a fireman recruit.

And that is how I found out what HR does in large organizations. He turned me in and gave examples of what I had said to him, or in his words threatened him. The girl I had at HR tried like hell not to crack up as she read them to me and asked if I really said them. I replied sure I did. She giggled and said she had never heard any of those things in the Mid West growing up here. And now felt like she missed out on a few things in life. I didn't really get in any trouble but she told me that if I would have gone through with any of the threats that I made to him I would have ended up in jail. Yes ma'am. Understand ma'am.

My house and septic tank is well below grade for where a sewage line would run. Downhill it is almost 5 miles to the next road where any lines would be run. I will need a lift station when they finally come through with the sewage line.

Thanks Mike. I think I get it now, and sounds like a great company. I still find the pick a gift thing odd for some reason. :notsure: But I don't understand a lotta stuff ... Boxes on Airplanes, yo. ;)

Howdy all. It was a busy couple of nights with the outage going on. It was supposed to wire in a small 75 hp motor last night and get the drive adjusted, but they had contractors in there pressure washing the ceiling. Not a job you want to do in the rain. So I ended up trying to troubleshoot some software changes that was put in and not tested out.

I know, right? "For <X times 5> years of service, you get to choose from among *these* crappy gifts, none of which is worth more than fifty bucks!!!"

Although I did finally get a second battery-powered drill at my last anniversary. Now I can pick up one drill, drill the hole, pick up another drill, drive the screw.

Heheheh yea I almost believe that.
I have a few projects to do this year I think. One is adding a winch to my JD FOR my blower so I don't need to reach out and yank on a lever. Then if that goes ok I may try and build a cab for it with a windshield wiper, lights, etc. need to break the rust off the Marquette.
