I'm not a big guy for plasti dip but it's pretty cool stuff. Blacked out out my emblems

haha ya i did that also, then a couple days later i ripped all the emblems off D-badge!

Same, I kept the sides and the TOYOTA on the tailgate though. I couldn't for the life of me, get the plasti dip to stick to the Sr5 emblems so I ripped them off hahah

 

Finally got the fenders back on. Everything came out great. The fender cuts just need a little detailing with a razor blade cause I'm not gonna use the black trim everybody uses.only problem now is I need to cut the cab mount further back...
I got 212 miles on a full tank till the gas light came on. So I think thats like 13-14 miles a gallon. Better than I thought it would be.

That's why I don't have plasti derp on my truck. I just used some matte black spray paint instead. Looks better and no peeling.

 

I thought you used plasti dip on your wheels?

 

I did. And peeled it off about a week later and used wheel paint.

 

I however have an unhealthy amount of plastiderp on my truck... emblems, grille, front bumper valence, B pillars

Did you take the emblems completely off then stuck them back on? i didn't feel like doing that.. & the truck looks better without so many badges

 

Haha I used Bed liner on the grille. And paint for the Tacoma emblems and took the stupid V6 off the back. I also may have broken it taking it off

 

Yes I did. It was a pain in the ass. Almost worse than the stupid bump stop bolts haha

 

I took off my emblems to sand, primer and paint the first go around but they ended up chipping and flaking. The derp has actually held up much better for me.

 

Almost 4 yrs later... the plastic dip finally are starting to chip a little bit. Best mod yet right? @Manwithoutaplan

 

Those bump stop bolts were fucking stupid. Tiny fingers FTMFW

 

Looks so much cleaner than mine does, lol. How'd you block off the surrounding area? I used painter's tape but it was a bitch to get it in the crevices just right. Also learned the hard way that you have to remove the tape right after applying the derp or it just peels right off with the tape after you've done all that hard work....
