I've tried/used a few different combinations but, my go to is marinate in Dales after slicing at least 12 hrs (overnight if possible) then every tray I lay out I sprinkle a mix of red, white, black pepper and garlic salt.

All of us on this thread... do we eat too much meat? :anonymous:

What I'm saying is, health-wise is it a concern to nom on meat so much as we do? I'm no health nut, trust me. I probably out-vice most on this forum. But, every now and then I get to thinking... too much red meat in particular?

Thoughts? I don't care what Google has to say, I wanna hear from YOU.

Protein and fat have got a bad wrap in my opinion. I believe meat and veggies are the staples and leave the processed stuff on the shelf. Of course portion control is another subject.

Meat and potatoes for me, with some veggies and fruit tossed in occasionally for good measure. Last check up, Dr. gave me . Now, I may be carrying a few extra pounds, but the ticker and blood pressure are good.

We are designed to eat meat. I say eat away! It's mostly the carbs that cause health issues.

I think too much Red Meat can be bad for you but to be honest you just sprinkle in the pork/chicken/fish and so on. As some others have said I think for the most part you just need to portion control. Every now and then it's good to have a pigout session but most of the time just keep what you're eating to smaller portions.

Like one of my guilty pleasures has been smoked Pizza especially the BBQ Brisket one we have been doing. FREAKING AWESOME... Now we only do this every 4-6 months max and it's usually some sort of holiday.

I think the prob with red meat is all the horomones, chemicals etc that the animal was fed during its lifetime...If red meat was so bad our ancestors wouldnt have survived. Wild game is far better for you...

I've been wanting to buy a high quality grass fed cow, friend and I have been looking into pricing for it. Not cheap but should be some good stuff, place we are looking at is a small family owned and run farm.

I can tell the difference lol. Love good quality meat. Got part of a pig with another friend that was small raised with none of the chems and stuff also. Even my wife who isn't a huge fan of a lot of pork due to a strong taste loves this stuff.

My in-laws have 60 head of cattle. Grass and corn fed Angus. No one will let me raise up a steer take him to the butcher but they eat steak every week.:crazy::crazy:

That's awesome man. If I could raise one I would want to do the American Wagyu beef thing. Never raised a farm animal. We have been looking at a house with 20+ acres though so maybe I might get a chance some year lol.

I remember having a pig roast when I was at my first duty station! Boy it was good! It was slow cooked overnight and so good! I think half of it got eaten before it was even supposed to be done!
