Damn, serious question why are the OEM length versions always so expensive? Ive never had a set of those types so I am curious what bumps the cost up. I just ordered a set of 14's with dual rate springs, 3" extended lower rod ends, wider spacers, 90* fittings and they are still way less than the OEM models. I mean umm, I may have inquired about some things from DSM :spy: :anonymous:

    no idea honestly.

I know getting custom shocks from them isn't terrible.

But thats what they sell the coilover for the OEM stuff...not sure why. pay off the R&D for it i guess.

Shop quoted me 420 to swap out my LCA with an alignment and I provide the part.

    That a decent price?

You have a shop and some tools? because while it totally sucks to drop the steering rack to drop the LCAs...its not THAT hard to do. But is a bitch. Be a full saturday project maybe.

I could probably figure it out but I'd really just rather have someone else do it and it be done right for sure. As much as it sucks to pay for stuff...

You don't have to drop the steering rack, just unbolt it.

Pop out the LBJ stud, lower shock bolt, sawzall for the cam bolts. Should take an hour a side. No way in hell would I pay a shop $420 to do that.

Well, to be fair, bushings are a lot more labor than replacing the whole LCA.

While we're on the topic, I don't know that I would want cheap aftermarket LCAs with questionable rubber bushings. Take the time to put some poly bushings in your OEM arms.

Any poly bushing you recommend in particular?

Thinking I'll just burn the old ones out

I'm just gonna get Dorman arms off of Rock Auto. If they last another 235k that's fine with me.
If they don't well that's great.

Whitelines. Don't bother with the energy suspension ones.

Burning out the rubber is easy, but that still leaves you with the sleeve that is most likely rusted to the arm.

    Good luck with the Dormans...

Don't think the bushing sleeves on my lca's will be rusted to the actual arm. Live in a rust free area but they could be and knowing my luck they are
