They're not locked per say, but the way they are made and clip into place make it impossible to take off without removing the dash in my opinion. You have to kinda pry the clip from behind a bit, to force it to come off. Unless you want to just prey and pry, and break them off, but that would suck because then they wouldn't be able to get clipped back into place and you'd likely have to glue them back on.

You sound like the young whipper snapper I once was with those first few things you said. I won't even start on your distractions comment. Good luck to you.

Went back an forth via email - the rep never gave his/her name, just "support@wheelersoffroad.com". Everything was professional and cordial, but I got nothing from the exchange. At first they didn't believe me, and asked for pictures and measurements. Fair enough, so I complied. Next they tried to blame it on the front springs sagging, but they are only 3 years old and haven't moved. Even if they had, the issue is the rear, and the distance between the center of the wheel and fender increased initially by 2.75", then quickly settled down to 2.5". After telling me over and over that they haven't seen this before and that they didn't understand why their product wasn't performing as advertised - as if that mattered to me - they asked me to just carry more weight....um...no. I did agree to add a few hundred pounds in the rear of the bed for a month to see if they would settle. They didn't. So then I started asking for my money back.

I paid a muffler shop to put them on while my tires were being changed and exhaust was being rerouted. They charged me a couple hundred bucks. The springs themselves were about $90, but there was a big shipping charge. I'm not at home and don't have the paperwork, but I think the total was around $140 all-in for the parts. Wheeler's offered me two options:

    1. Remove the springs myself (or at my own expense) and return them for a refund of only the part cost, but I would have to pay the return shipping.
    2. Or "you can keep it and we can provide a refund of $29.09."

I asked for #2, but they never replied or provided the refund. They also offered me a small discount on any future purchases, and since the 2.5" of lift is now causing pinion angle issues I asked for some help on some 3-degree shims. If that works I'll add another inch of lift to the front and call it done - not what I wanted, but I could live with it. If it doesn't help, I'll pull the springs and CL them. So anyway, they gave me about $7 off the original shim price, but the shipping was more than that.

Like a lot of consumers, I just got tired of trying to get some justice and I gave up. So, Wheeler's wins. However, I will tell everyone that asks me this story, and I will never buy anything from them again.

    Bummer. That's no fun.

On a side note. I need to open a muffler shop and assemble springs :)

Had to go look for the order, and find the associated emails. Don't want to get into a pissing match, but there are fairly extensive emails with our support going back and forth trying to figure out what the issue was, and then coming up with reasonable options for a solution. No company (other than maybe an install shop) ever covers any labor cost. That is just not how it works.

We did sell the 3 Degree Shim Kit at a discounted price. There was an offer on the table for the product to be returned with a full refund on the Part Only, or we would provide a refund of $29.09 if the customer planned to keep the aal set.

The last communication that I can see shows Wheeler's asking if the customer was planning to keep the AAL set. The reply was "Not sure. need to try the shims." That was the last of the conversation.

We do strive to provide the best service that we can, and take care of issues as best we can.

Thank you all for your support and if you do have an issue with an order or part please contact us immediately.

Me and some buddies had those made. Says, "I DON'T SKATE, I'M JUST A KOOK"

I still skate after 30 years and a re-done knee. Just not quite as flexy as I used to be but I can still get my gnar on when properly motivated.
