The consensus on 5100s for Terd Gen is no cranking to max.

Get a set of OME springs or the like and set 5100s to 0 and you'll get 2" +.

    Best option or next cheapest?

Next step up is OME springs but that's not the best, best would also replace the rear leaf packs.

dakars would be the end game im just more concerned on what to do with the front without dropping a grand on lifted coilovers

Bilstein 6112 with a spring up front, don't buy coil overs unless you want to adjust for lean or ride height and want to deal with the maintenance of keeping them clean.

You can get 5100s paired with OME coils and lift the front for less than $400

Recommend keeping the factory rake otherwise anytime you have anything in the bed you squat the rear.

885 for 1.75 up front, 2 inch minimum for the rear.

I Highly recommend calling Marie at Headstrongoffroad.com. I was very VERY impressed with her knowledge/specifics on what I was looking for, etc. She explained to me the pro's/con's of every application I was looking for. So after weeks of spinning my head around this I went in this direction for my 17 DCLB.

I just ordered this evening 2nd generation Bilstein 5100 kit. 5100's all the way around, ome 887, deaver single AAL, differential drop kit with the strut assembly done by them.

Also ordered through 4wheelparts.com 4) BF Goodrich AT K02 265/70/17 shipped to my door for $750. With a $50 gift card. It's a special they are running now.

Do it! I'm thinking about doing the same except I'm going 5100's all around with 885's and see where that puts me before I order an AAL

Bumps seem to reverberate back through the cab with them. Hoping that won't be the case with 5100's

Ride is not harsh, ride is better than stock. Set on 4th notch 1"7/8 actual front lift stock spring. 265/70/17s. Alignment well within spec. You will need an ECGS bushing Most probably so get that done while it's dismantled if you're paying someone to lift it for you. If you're diy wait and see if needed.

5100's all around from Headstrong. Front set at 1.65" with stock TRD OR coils and rear 1.5" AAL from Wheelers offroad. Rides firm but better than stock. Need to test it on the trails in the spring.

If you plan to lift, plan to set aside some money for the ECGS bushing. I have 887s with 5100s and dakar AAL. Front is about .5" lower than the rear. Ride is comparable to stock sport shocks, I wouldn't call it soft. I'm happy with the outcome but will go a different route in the future.
