That's why I went with double hatch doors on each side. I have full access to both sides of the bed from the outside so there's no need for a custom bed. The reason that's great for a FWC is because you essentially loose the space outside of the wheel wells in the bed.

Having a swingout tire carrier kind of cramps that goal though. I want to keep the inside stuff on the inside and the outside stuff on the outside.

Cummins is getting ready to release the new lighter 4 cylinder 2.8 turbo diesel. You guys should read about their repower program if you're serious about a diesel swap.

Right! So I have a swing out on mine for the gas, propane and tire. Everything else can be accessed from the outside while still being inside the camper.

with the custom bed, i can throw recovery gear, chainsaw, tools into the cabinets and just hose that out whenever I want, easier to access than having to pull out the swing out especially if i'm on an incline with ice. Then I can keep the interior of the bed nice and clean.

 

I forgot exactly where I saw them mention the estimated price. It might have been in a motortrend video where the put that engine in a jeep. But I am all about getting a cummins in my truck and this makes it a viable option
