Fair enough. My opinion wasn't changed this season, it has always been that way. He's 1 of the best for sure, but he's not the clear-cut best as he is made out to be. He won some personal hardware 1 season, otherwise, he hasn't won anything (Gold's don't count. I could post a .925% on Canada) and isn't any more of a game breaker as the other top guys. A guy like Bobrovsky, to me is equally as good/impressive and has played on much worse teams. His team/nationality factors in to that a bit, no way around it.

The Ducks should get him to apologize and serve the suspension. Calgary forced the issue with Wideman and while he did come back early from the suspension they have suffered from biased officials ever since. It's not worth protecting the player for the repercussions to the team. Plus the Ducks can send a classy message that Calgary missed.

I was only able to listen to the first two periods on my drive home from work but they mentioned Vermette was getting dominated in the FO circle. I was cooking steaks in my kitchen when I watched the replay and saw it from the angle around 1:20.

we can all blame Pronger.

 

Apparently Vermette was overcrowding the dot all game and finally the linesman started kicking him. A few drops later the linesman told him to back up and he did but took his stick off the ice as the puck was dropped. He was under the impression that the face off should of been blown down and retaken, obviously it wasn't, so he slashed the linesman as he turned out of frustration. Stupid idea. Now he'll sit and he'll get kicked even more often.
