Vermette could appeal and get 5.

Didn't Wideman get 20, appeal, and reduced to 10?

Wideman's sentence was reduced because an arbitrator ruled his actions weren't to cause an intentional injury because he was concused. The rule is 10 games for hitting an official and 20 games if there is intent to injure. Vermette is already getting the minimum suspension, his appeal would either get him 0 or 20 games. Vermette slashed because he lost his shit on a linesman like a idiot with a law officer. He was in the wrong and made it worse. He should stop now while his team is ahead. Ask the Flames how the calls have gone for them since they protested Wideman's sentence. It wasn't worth it at all.

Really!? I had no idea. Im biased as a duck fan, so ill think it seems steep. Regardless Vermette was wrong.

There is a big difference between hitting a player and hitting an official.

I just saw the replay of it right now in real time, not a slowed down replay. It def looks more than just a tap now. And agreed of course there's a difference.

I missed the game last night but watched some highlights this morning. Seems to me, and I'm an oil fan, Manning showed more class than the entire oil teem.

Awesome that Sid gets the 1000pts. What a game he played, to cap it off. I thought MAF played pretty good for the most part. Had to make a bunch of key saves, but still sucked that Jets came roaring back like that.

Btw, I'm so glad that Manning finally had to pay the piper for chirping McDavid. Hopefully McDavid's feelings recovered from that lashing and the situation can be put to rest.

Oilers did what they had to do.
Not saying it was classy or right but they've been criticized for years for not standing up and protecting each other. It's part of being a team.
Canadian Hockey isn't always elegant but it's fun to watch and was what we expected to see.

If there's finesse and scoring, it's European.
If there's fighting and grit, it's Canadian :canada:
