Had 5100 Bilstein shocks installed on all for corners. In my opinion these ride better than the stock shocks. Firmer feel and it feels more truck than previously if that makes any sense. I highly recommend these if you're looking to level out your Taco and upgrade your ride without breaking the bank. If you live in the Denver area and need suspension work done I highly recommend Phil at Smooth Ride Auto (Next to Toytec). In case you guys are curious I went with the 3rd notch which put the front about 1/4"-1/2" lower. Also had him put a 1/4" spacer on the front drivers side to correct the lean.

I got the TSB for pulsing during breaking complete(significant improvement), trans fluid level checked and was normal, hood vibration was re-glued with a silicone based product and so far looks good at 80 with a stiff crosswind other then the clear globs on the underside of the hood. Tech rode with me and heard the howling sound put it on the lift and verified it was in the rear axle, he then tested every Tacoma they had on the lot and even the newest 17 still had it. Toyota refused to approve rear diff replacement and said its a standard noise. I already have a case opened with Toyota so maybe I'll try for the extended warranty now. If anyone near Grand Rapids, MI needs service I highly recommend Kool Toyota, they have been awesome to deal with so far!

This is one of the supposedly new shocks sent to me from suspension connection when I ordered a new set of four for my 2011.20170216_174140.jpg

They also told me there was no difference in 2nd gen and 3rd gen front adjustable 5100's. Which I argued the case but ended up getting what they sent me. Obviously in the end they did not work on the coils off my 16. So I just had them installed into the original coils from the 2011.
