Well, my truck tasted blood today. My roommate backed out of the garage into my front bumper, screwed his tail light up because the tow shackles were dead level with that and scraped some of his paint off. Only a couple scratches to the bedliner paint on my end luckily., everything looks normal otherwise...

You can still see bits of reflector on the shackle...

Nah, he's a good dude. He was more concerned with the truck than his car afterward.

You know I think it does.... hmmm. LOL I'm just happy it was a Subie, nice squishy Subie. I'd be sad if it was any other type of car.

Trying to finalize my parts list and had a question. Doing the aforementioned coilovers and UCAs, tie rods and LBJs. Figured while I was in there I would do some bushings. I have a line on the steering rack kit (it's pretty sloppy and cracked), and wanted to do the LCA bushings while it's apart. Can't find them on Weeler's and Camelback has only 2wd varients (not sure if they're different). Anyone have a lead or know of any others I should check/replace while under the front?

Also, to keep on topic... Dropped the truck off today for flexplate inspection and possible replacement :annoyed:

Ha. Not quite. 240k ish miles. Truck has been collecting dust for the past couple years and finally getting it back up and running. Had the motor swapped and as soon as it comes back, flexplate cracked. Mechanic is taking a look at it as I politely suggested it may have been during reassembly. Will hopefully know more in the coming days.

The hard part is pulling it all apart so if he's done that it's only six bolts to change the thing. Hopefully it's something simpler though.

I'm hoping pulling the starter and bell housing (if their is one, I'm used to GM) and maybe a borescope can tell before pulling the trans.

Bellhousing is integral on the a340... But he may be able to get a horoscope in through the access plate for the torque converter bolts.

Good to know. I don't have a vid, but it is pretty obvious it is either the flexplate or something in the engine /trans mate-up. So, pulling it is very inevitable.

    Got it sorted out

    Updated TRD radiator cap PSA:
There are 3 different caps offered (not including stock). These will correspond to radiator size and shape of radiator cap.

The stock Tacoma radiator cap is rated at about 13 psi (0.9 Bar and/or kg/cm2). With the upgrade of a TRD cap it will raise the boiling point of your coolant by keeping the coolant at a higher pressure. Note PTR04-00000-01. Upgrading will further benefit hotter climates and force injected (supercharged/turbocharged)

    Part # PTR04-00000-01 Type S (8.5 psi) [Confirmed 5VZ 4x4/Prerunner height]
    Part # PTR04-00000-02 Type S (21.3 psi) [Confirmed 5VZ 4x4/Prerunner height]
    Part # PTR04-00000-03 Type N (18.5 psi) [Unconfirmed configuration]

    S type is rated at 8.5 psi (0.5 kg/cm2) and 21.3 psi (1.5 kg/cm2) these replace 1st gen OEM # 16401-0C010.
N type is the more modern type for 2nd/3rd gen Tacomas which is rated at 18.5 psi (1.3 kg/cm2) <- units in parentheses are important to note as it's labeled on the cap.
