No custom order. Just a regular OffRoad Double cab with the package that gave me the moonroof.

No regrets with the Manual Super White DCSB TRD OR w/ Premium & Tech. Truck shifts when I want it to because I control it. I have good access to the power band when I want it. Traffic isn't too bad as 1st Gear and 4.30 rear-end makes creeping along pretty easy. The clutch isn't too stiff unless its first thing on a cold morning...

If they had made the Pro with the moonroof, I would have ordered that instead of my OR, simply for the factory lift. I don't really want to go back down the rabbit hole of lifts / ECGS bushings / etc.

If they had made the SR5 with a moonroof, I would have ordered that instead of my OR (I really dig how the trucks look without the flares).

I wish that I could have gotten colormatched flares on the OR, but I couldn't deal with a hoodscoop that wasn't functional...and I like function hoodscoops a lot.

What I ended up with is by far the best compromise for me.

Toyota makes us buy compromise trucks

    My ideal truck is

SR DCLB (or DCSB) 2.7L 4x4 6MT with moonroof

With the 4 cyl Tacos routinely going 500k-1M miles I would prefer that

    But Toyota won't sell the 4cyl with a 6MT in 4 doors

But I understand Toyota wanted me to spend 40k to get what I want instead of $27k and make the truck I want

    I am the sucker

    It's not Toyota fault

They are a business after all

I knew exactly what I wanted and have it. '17 TRD Off Road AC. I was lucky my dealer had one when having to make an unexpected trade-in on my other car. For the same price as the sport, I'd much rather have the rear locker, better approach angle, and at least decent AT tires. Sacrificing the fake scoop and some MPG was a no-brainer for me. Already used my locker several times, including one situation that would have had me laying on my doors in a creek without it.

At the time of purchase (only 2 weeks ago), I wished they made this model in MT, but after using 4x4 for babies button aka crawl control, I actually really love it. That and the reality of east bay traffic makes me stoked for the AT now.

Let's see...what do I NOT regret. I don't regret getting 4X4 and Quicksand paint...and that's about it. I regret getting the Sport instead of the Off Road, mainly due to the hood scoop which I fixed by trading hoods. I regret slightly getting the Access Cab instead of Double Cab, and I really regret getting the 6 speed manual. I'll probably get a lot of crap for that last one from the MT guys. Nothing against it, I just personally found that it wasn't enjoyable to drive. I traded it for a Tundra after a year, which I just sold. I'll be ordering a Taco DCLB TRD OR auto in Quicksand in the next couple weeks, so all is good!

They will when its not a Pro color any loner. I really like the Inferno but the year I saw it, was the first year Pro's came out and that was the color.

Short people watch out for the hood scope on the sport. Could be a bad blind spot. Got one and wish I didn't.

I actually have 2 on order, a sport and a limited... could not make up my mind so the dealer ordered them both..both with options I wanted..nothing more.
I like the ride in the Limited better, but like the Sport exterior better. Cost wise, Limited is a bit more obviously.
Sport is due in end of this month, the limited end of next month... I will have a decision to make shortly..

I had the same issue. Luckily, there are way more people who want to trade to get a scooped hood than the other way around. I found a guy a few hours away who gave me his regular hood and 2 boxes of expensive .45 ammo for my pooper scooper hood.

Same here. I was soooooo on the fence about to sign for an inferno '15 pro a cpl of years ago. Obviously glad now that I waited, but excited to see what they come out with next! The wife needs a new car so I am between a cement or quicksand 4runner pro.

Would have liked the Pro but wanted MGM, Silver or Black. So I went with the sport. I like the sport suspension for the very winding roads I travel daily.

Think about how many people have survived for decades driving RWD in rain and snow. Also remember, the brakes are the same on RWD and 4WD trucks. :)

Note for clarity for other readers, the OR only has chrome bumper ends if you don't get the premium & tech package.
