how'd you mount them? Did you drill through your cab floor on the 4th bolt, swap rails off your taco bucket, or some other method? thanks and your truck is coming along nicely btw

Thanks man! All of the holes on the seats lined up except for the passenger side rear outboard hole, which I drilled with a step bit and primered, then siliconed.

Started making these for our first gens. So you can run a bigger shock outboard. These are prototypes, shipped and waiting to see how they work0214171329a.jpg

I was about to buy the Solo Motorsports kit for outboard shocks, and modify the mount to run them as tight as I can in order to run a 2.5 shock. I'd rather buy from a member though, let us know how this works out please.

drilled through your cab floor? Or through the 4runner rail to make a new hole? I have these 97 seats in cloth in my living room waiting to go on. Just trying to figure out whats best. I heard one guy had to weld a metal plate to the rail to extend its length, then drill through the metal plate. thx !

Drilled through the floorpan. Used big grade 10.9 washers.

Similar to the TC kit and Solo kits running the shock outside the frame?

Cheapest I've ever seen them: http://www.toyotaonlineparts.com/oe-toyota/ptr103495004 $523.88 + Shipping. They are from McGeorge Toyota in Richmond, VA. Before I ordered them online I called the number and asked if they actually had them in stock since they are a discontinued product. The guy on the phone said "I don't show them as discontinued" which worried me but I ordered them Tuesday anyway. I was expecting them to call and say it was a mistake or the wrong part to show up but they arrived today.

I will say the box showed signs that it had been opened before (staples were not in original place and tape wasn't original) but the parts bag was unopened, the headers look to be undamaged and unused. The y-pipe looks like it spent some time out of the box, it's got dust and dirt on it. I'm not using that y-pipe anyway. I'm going to take a closer look when I get home from work to make sure everything is there but yeah. That price was fucking unreal. After shipping I paid $557.24. :bananadance:

So what is the smallest/shortest/cheapest muffler that I can put on a 3.4 without it sounding too stupid? Sounding stupid doesn't even bother me as much as long as it fits the small and cheap category

Magnaflow 14'' is good for that. Loud in a fun way. Not stupid.

However, you won't want it chopped or it'll be really fuckin loud in the cab.

or magnaflow 18'' is a great choice.

PO installed a 14" Magnaflow on my truck. Model #12636 to be specific. I quite like it. If you want, I can see if I can record any worthwhile audio of how it sounds.

Awesome thanks. Its tough to get real audio of exhaust, as long as it doesn't sound like a ricer wannabe then that will work lol

first page of my build has a couple videos of my 14'' magnaflow. Its piped all the way out with a 3'' tip. Keeps the level down in the cab and i like that. But outside is quite loud. but sounds great. I love it.

Mind getting a pic of that for me? Whenever you get a chance.
I was gonna say you're going to need the new y pipe. Which are you going to use?
