    Happy Friday, all.

Random questions for another project I'm always researching, and haven't been getting much good advice on it yet:

    1) Besides constantly searching Craigslist in the surrounding areas, you guys know of any other means/website/business to find a particular diesel engine?

    2) It the greater Puget Sound area, I'm looking for a business that knows their stuff about solid axles. Namely, I am looking to completely rebuild a front axle, including swapping it from driver to passenger drop. This is some precision effort that I don't have the time to botch or the proper tools to do correctly, so I'm looking to see if you guys knows any reliable and reasonable shops that knows anything and everything about axle work.
Several friends of mine recommended Rears & Gears out near Port Orchard for good work, but the owner told me he's no longer interested moving front axle pumpkins. A couple other shops around Tacoma have said they'll regear/rebuild, but also aren't tearing down the tubes.

If you guys know of any one, send me their info please!

    1) depends on what you are looking for exactly. Facebook groups, dealers, junkyards can all be decent places to check. You can also check other forums that deal with that vehicle/machine and engine. There's pretty good luck on there with someone stashing away stuff. Even nationally it isn't to bad to ship stuff especially if ots harder to find.

    2) I don't know any shops who do it but you could do all but the welding yourself somewhat easy. It's simple but obviously lots of work. But basically cut the axle tubes approx 4-8 inches out from the diff and then again approx 4-8 inches from the knuckles. Get some tubing that matches the I.d. of the axle tubes and cut it somewhat close to the length of the axle tube. Slide it in the pumpkin, slide the new axle tube piece against the cut off axle tube, slide the knuckle end on. Weld it up. Then get the internal piece out. That's the jist of it at least. Basically just use the internal pipe to make sure everything lines up.

Well, going to be at Mule next Tuesday morning. Getting all the bushes in my Dakars swapped out. I'm pretty sure they are shifting in the mounts under side-loads, causing an irritating clunking noise. Mine came originally with the eye-end having a rubber bushing, and I used OEM rubber bushes for the rear. I think ARB is using different bushes now.

Are you talking coilovers and springs and stuff? Or hubs and brakes and axle shafts?

Thanks, but it wouldn't help. On the front i need everything outboard from the control arms, and on the rear i need everything outboard of the axle housing.

Axle parts, rather than suspension parts.
