Anyone feel like sharing your before and after accident pics on your newer Tacoma? Experiences with paint matching?

If the paint can't be matched or blended on a new vehicle the shop is incompetent.

98.2% of the general public can't tell if a vehicle has ever had a body repair around 90% of the time. Unless the shop was incompetent. And those certainly exist.

Use the right shop, one with skilled techs, who use the right parts and materials, and it may even be better than new.

@20tacoma17, thread hijack here. My apologies to @silvio . :hattip:

Is your profile pic a Z31?

Clearwater nailed it. Not sure if I have a pic but mine had a new front driver fender 2 yrs ago and it's impossible to tell.

    OP, where are you from?

I wish... Got a call about waiting for parts and going to take a little longer... It's been a week and frankly I am starting to get a little nervous about it. The pics I had of the damage were impossible to show little things that were of concern. The gate caused damage to the back of the cab and bent it in a way that would be a challenge to straighten even for a good shop. I have a feeling it's the part where the third break light lays flat near the top of the cab as one example. Parts are readily available (I checked with my parts guy) so I am wondering why the hold up. My private paint and body guy would have had this done in 3-4 days if it was straight forward. If I have not heard by Wednesday this week I am going to the Toyota body shop to see my truck.

I was hoping to hear some stories like this and the outcomes while having my Sunday morning.

Sharp ride. I had an '81 280ZX. Shitbox but a fun summer car for a teen.

If they are taking a little while it could be they are making sure to get it done right. It's the ones that get it done too fast just trying to get you out the door. If you live close, go check it out.

That was my other thought. I couldn't be more pissed about this. And the management company of the building denied paying for the insurance deductible because my truck was stopped under the gate. Even though I was told the gate was not functioning properly. So I may have to small claims court this.

If they admitted the gate was not functioning properly I would.

I was told that by the building manager. But I don't have any proof in hand yet. They did move one of the sensors though.

Question to the people in this thread who have been helpful... If I decide to keep my truck when I get it back I may consider trading it back to the dealer and getting another new one. The numbers are $37,500 for mine traded in with $5,500 more for a brand new one. Just some thoughts? I would change colours also.

You plan on getting same model or going to try different? At least you will know it's all new with no mishaps...

I have the TRD sport with sunroof and every single option. I'd get that exact one and maybe step down to one without sunroof package. Ya all new. But could happen again right? And it's like another $5000
