I will be trading my 4runner TRD Pro 2015 for a 2017 Manual Tacoma Offroad quicksand.
I had to order it since there are not many M/T tacomas, 6-8 weeks wait, once I get it I will be selling rims, grill, tail lights and hood if any takers.
Here is a pic of my 4runner, I will miss it.
Should I keep my 4runner? :smack: will I regret? Lol

    Welcome to TW.

    Great looking dog!

Personally I'd keep the 4 Runner. My wife has one (different generation) and I love it way more than my truck.

Important question to ask yourself is do you want an unlimited open bed versus a large secure trunk. Both vehicles are pretty similar on most other use, function, design and coolness factors.

So the reason I got a truck was for the bed and it's come in handy. But since 2011 I've really needed it maybe 6 or 8 times. Every other time the 4runner would work we just use the truck since it's easier to clean out the bed.

I like the shorter wheel base of the 4runner. And you have much more options for stereo equipment (which is a big deal for me).

If I had to get rid of my 2nd gen today. I'd buy a 4Runner tomorrow.

I catch myself checking out 4runners all the time. Great trucks.

I have had a 4runner and enjoyed it a great deal, but you cannot beat keeping the interior clean when you have a messy, oversized load to carry (that's what she said) and I have one every week.:anonymous:

You're not even close to winning. You lose the handling and maneuverability advantages with a trailer. It's more like you just tried to move yourself into checkmate...

I don't have a clue what these guys are driving. Most of the second generation taco drivers will say anything to have you not get one. I have a third generation Tacoma and love it. I guess that because you have a Pro, they're liking that over the off road model you are getting.

Never had any issues towing any of my trailers... I'm not racing on a track, I'm loading up tree trimmings to take to the dump, bringing home sod, hauling a couch to a friends house, etc. So why does handling even matter? You don't want to make the inside of your 4Runner dirty, need to load something that's taller than the opening, load it on the trailer, wash it off when you are done.

I'm not even sure if the OP has a trailer or not and I'm not really sure what your trailer needs have to do with his wanting a Tacoma or a 4Runner so I was just gotta let people pick what they want to pick. He may not need a trailer. Maybe he wants the 3.5 V6

I had a 4Runner and made the switch to Tacoma (2015). It worked well for me. You gotta do what best fits you. Welcome aboard!

Maybe I missed it, but have you said why you are considering the switch?

You are missing my point. One of the reasons the OP was talking about a truck is to have an open bed. Which a 4Runner doesn't have obviously.

So a possible solution is get a trailer for the times you need an open bed. Simple harbor freight trailer can run you a few hundred bucks, easy to store, and works for the times you need to haul something that doesn't fit in a bed.

All I'm doing is giving the OP possible ideas. Not sure what your deal is.

I dont need a truck, but I woulndt mine having one, specially MT
    Thanks

Well, I will get a newer truck with lower APR, zero down, and will keep the equity that I have on the runner about 5 k, (which I can use for mods) , and payments will be only 20$ more a month.
