Asphalt guys do that all the time. Good for us and it saves them from what ever they do with the left over. You probably could've talked him down lower. I had mine done 16 years ago for $600 down from $800. I told him that I wasn't planning on it and that was all I had:rolleyes: Same thing as you. They did a driveway down the street and had some left over. New asphalt sure melts the snow off in a hurrry:thumbsup:

Talk your neighbor into doing theirs, then you can get yours done with the "left overs" at a cut rate!:D

I gotta ask, does resurfacing or surfacing a drive require a building permit?

That aside, how come that lucky shit never happens to me. BTW, I would not be able to write the check fast enough it was me getting that deal!

That'll never happen to me with a 1/4 mile driveway!

Mother Nature decided she hasn't quite finished fucking us around yet as yesterday Environment Canada issued a special weather advisory , now calling for up to 100mm (4") rain from tonight to Thursday morning , pour now on for Friday morning , its supposed to be clear that day , I just want to start framing lol

Depends on local codes. We didn't need one.

    Why? and why?

Not sure. I live in unincorporated County area, where fewer permits are needed and even fewer people check.

What's funny is I was just thinking last week how I know lots of people who score sick deals by being in the right place at the right time and how it never happens to me.

Part of being in the right place at the right time is having a wad of cash in your pocket.:D

Or in this case a no-balance credit card. I've got kid #4 on the way, I'm lucky if I have $5 in my pocket.

Hi! so I love your gas strut window. I am trying to do the same thing here in Manhattan beach. There are tons of folks who do this in Australia (very popular) but far fewer here. Can I ask you a few quick questions? Did you just order a standard awning window? Did you buy it with weather proofing / guard on the bottom or add something? I think I can find the hardware for hanging online but if you have any recommendations, that would be great. I love what you did here - very impressive work. Thank you, Erin in MB

Lol...I need something bigger for the family and for towing. It seemed to fit the bill. Plus my wife wanted to buy it for my birthday. It's not bad at all to drive, nice creature comforts but it is my new work truck. Wait a minute! Don't you own a Pontiac Solstice?

Yeah, the stealership loaned me a Tundra when I got my frame inspected, nice truck, to large for city driving IMO, but creature comforts abound. Solstice is a car my wife and I both wanted for fun. Nice car for a GM!

Anybody know about the new under cabinets lighting. Would be a good time to do before back splashes are tiled.

Led puck lights are great. I bought regular puck lights 110v and wired directly to switch.
