Why would I do that? If I'm gonna dial someone's number to send a text, which I guess is what you have to do, it's just as easy to actually TALK to them! I've had cell phones for over 15 years, and have NEVER sent a text. Ever.

if they're in a meeting or in a place that is too noisy a quick text can alert them to your need to speak. :)

*shrug* Up to you to decide whether or not to do something. I really don't give a flip what you do or don't do. You stated you didn't know how, I offered up a pointer to the info.

As for me, I find it's pretty handy for asynchronous communication. It's handy for a question that doesn't need an immediate answer, or you're asking multiple people. For example I may text my wife and kids that I'm stopping by the store on the way home and they can text back if they need anything. SLots of other scenarios where it can be useful. Even on a flip phone.

But like I said, do whatever you want. I merely was trying to offer helpful info. Take it or leave it as you see fit.

Yep. I'm on the phone and in meetings a lot. So is my wife. If she calls during one of those, I'll text back to find out if it's an emergency or if it can wait.

It's weird, I thought I clicked on the asshole parking thread not the low tech talk thread.

I think this guy is either very OCD or he's been tagged an asshole parker before.

Watched him pull in. Started to get out. Looked at the ground and got back in. Though between the lines, he knew it wasn't right.
He backed up and straightened up.

I've gotten out saw my lousy parking job and gotten back in to fix many times. Unless I'm parked in the back of a lot then I don't care.

I judge myself when I park like crap and I've been more judgmental than ever after I started following this thread.

My other vehicle is a BMW. I feel with the Stigma of BMW Drivers, I always have to double check my parking haha.
Also, I don't know why so many people care when you take up multiple spots in the back or when it's dead.
We got ALOT of lifted/off road trucks in AB and if they ever "try" to park inside the lines, no one in the adjacent stall would be able to get out.
    meh.

If someone has a handicap sticker/sign, I usually give them a pass on their parking alignment. Good on them for realigning.
