Not sure your math but looks like MSRP on his truck is $37,785. You subtract the state and dealer fees from his OTD price and he paid $33,943.00. If that's the case still great deal of 10+% off.

Catman there are many strategies discussed throughout the thread below as well as what many people have paid for their tacoma. The first page is the most important because some unbelievably helpful person listed (and keeps updated ) the prices/MSRP and invoice prices for all models. Also he lists all the accessories. Pick your model and add the accessories and you have a good starting price. Many people get as much as 5 to almost 10% off the MSRP number. Check it out : https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/3rd-gen-tacoma-model-package-option-costs-master-list.388345/. Read further into this thread and you will discover many strategies other people in your situation have employed to get their tacoma at the best price. Be an informed buyer and don't be afraid to go out of state to get the best price.

It is going to take some time and effort to get smart and this tread (and the link above)has all you need for that....

Nice! Isn't New Hampshire a state with no sales tax? That also explains why your out to door cost was so cheap

So, I was in a pinch and didn't have time to research or shop around. I think I paid too much. I live in the Bay Area. I bought a 2017 Trd sport double cab sb AT 2wd premium technology package JBL with predator step added and weather mats. $36272 before taxes and fees. Please chime in. Thanks

Looks like MSRP, "most" people get 5-10% off MSRP however you said bay area which everyone is reporting to not get much if any discounts around. So for your area that may be about right but if you would have gone elsewhere you probably could have saved around 3k. Like you said though, you were in a pinch and if your happy and can make the payment that's what matters most.

So are the Southern California prices still not budging?
I have a truck on "order" supposed to be built tomorrow.
17 ORDCSB 4x4 With HH premium tech, toneau and tow package. Relative is in the car biz and referred me to him (sales guy)
He quoted me 38.5k and "claims" its $500 over dealer cost. I looked at the cost thread and its pretty close.
My thing is do I have any wiggle room being in socal? or should I just take the "deal"
MSRP on the write up is 40,428

Tell him you are having second thoughts and unless you can drop the price by $$$$ (insert your number) i'm going to have to pass on the truck . He may have to talk to his sales manager or say that's the best we can do. If he says the latter, tell him- you have my phone number call me if you decide to drop the price to what I want then walk out.

So you got about $7,000 off msrp? Seems a little low.

ETA: it appears I was little late to this party. It's been addressed already lol

Any link to the rate? Im seeing >3% as toyota doesnt have offers in CA. Best I see with banks/CU is around ~2.5% (not that I really mind the 0.5% difference, but only pointing out that the non-toyota institutions seem to be dealing in rates more than toyota on the tacomas right now).
