so i gave my truck to a guy that works at firestone for a project for installing the new set up and he ran into a problem. When he tries to get this nut off of the strut it just turns. He has tried a torch and also uses a pair of vise to hold but nothing. Any help is appreciated.

You should take it to a shop that knows what they are doing. He's probably going to install your suspension upside down and backwards to.

This. And air tools. The torque from an air gun should jolt it hard enough to get the nut off. Soak it in PB blaster overnight first.

If I recall correctly, you have to remove the coil over and compress the spring before you attempt to take that nut off.

Agree with this. Hope he isnt trying to remove that while its still on the car, if so id recomend taking it to someone that knows what they are doing. I think thats what @nickj604 was insinuating.

Yes, you can see by the other stud threads that they haven't been taken off yet. Normally you would take the unit out and compress the spring first, as stated. Also as stated, an air gun should then make short work of the center nut.

There is the other method, which I have successfully used, of having a floor jack under the lower control arm and another jack supporting the truck by the frame. You can then take the center nut out and decompress the spring by slowly lowering the lower control arm jack. I admit, as a former suspension/alignment professional, I was skeptical when I first heard of this method, but it works like a charm.
