Just an appreciation thread. Previously I've had to haul a double cab on a uhaul trailer and my little 2.7 pulled it 300 miles. Just picked up a camper last night and nada says the weight of that thing is 5400 pounds. pulled it perfect. This truck amazes me everyday.

You pulled 5400 pounds with your 2.7l!? Jesus that's like 2,000 pounds over the weight limit. That can't be good for your truck.

I would imagine that would be a handful going down long, steep grades. Tundra brake swap would alleviate the "pucker factor" some, but would still be a little sketchy.

pulling isn't the problem, its the limited ability stopping something you are pulling that is where the problems are

Alright. let me correct this. I used that stupid nada guide and that said 5400 pounds. the title says 3400 but then it's winterized so all the lines and tanks are full. so I would guess 3600 pounds. Braking is something i really didn't really on because it's a 5 speed and i am used to driving big trucks that always has me downshifting. even in my tiny toyota. I recently did my brakes and replaced all the fluid so I was ok i think there. Only real issue, was the sheer size of the trailer. I have a load balancing thing on the front and instead of the weight of the trailer i was towing holding my ass to the ground, a few times the ass end didn't feel quite right. gonna look into the proper setup of that hitch system.
