Looks like you can skip watering the grass for a couple days.

Funny thing is, it's pretty short lived out here. By tomorrow it'll be dry. The native plants and animals take full advantage of of it, but grass and non native have to be tended to. Tuesday is supposed to be almost 80 degrees.

Even the wash runs don't last but a few hours at most. It's just that the soils are so soft that the water cuts the dirt roads and makes them impassable to most vehicles and people's lack of driving abilities and lack of preparation.

We usually don't get but a few decent storms per year. Further north gets more than we do. Most of ours come in the summer monsoons. Still, not big storms, but hard and fast movers. Our average is like 3-6" annually.

What kind of grass do you have there? I struggle with Bermuda here. Been thinking of taking a shot with Buffalo grass.

It's a mix. It's supposed to stay green all year, but my house shades it during winter so it turns brown. It's just now coming back. And it's planted directly on sand so I alternate between using the bagger on the mower and mulching it. If I don't use the bagger it chokes it out, but everyother time helps it build substance.

Woke up, grabbed a cup o joe, looked out the window and its raining. Caught footage of a Fire truck falling into a sink hole in Cali. Crazy.
Were sposed to get a couple inches.
Thinking of driving down to phoenix to Cabelas to check out some truck tents since I won't be able to afford a RTT setup for awhile.

When my son was having issues from chemo one of them was a hole in his heart and was headed to heart failure he ended up in Mayo's Cardiac ICU. One of the cardio docs that showed up was a woman who specializes in female heart disease. Talking to her discovered that she was surprised that she was assigned to him and it was the only time I saw her. She ran a whole section of heart disease specialist that deal in women heart issues. She told me heart attacks are the number 1 cause of deaths in females and it was her mission in life to change that. I wish her luck and sorry to hear about your coworker. That is way too young to say the least.

Couple of years ago they sent me to Scottsdale in January and it snowed and got below freezing. The news at night consisted of how to drain the home water irrigation systems so the pipes would not break it was a couple of days of hard freezing. The staff there accused me of bringing the snow and cold weather with me from Mn. And said they would never invite me back. Now seems like the only time they want to send me is in July and August. Hmmm.....

We wouldn't have cold and rain and snow if it wasn't for the snowbirds.

On the way to do the Apache Trail stopped in the Superstition Mountains to get gas. They had more than a foot of snow and a lady asked me if I had come up from the Valley to see the snow. Couple of days before I was living in twenties below zero and a couple feet of snow. I could hardly reply to her but managed to somehow choke out "Not Even"!

    So sorry.
To be honest IMO it is what it is. I don't take much stock in preventing shit cause its gonna happen. Seen people smoke till 103 years old. Seen fitness people die at 23. You never know. The only thing You can wish for is to die in your sleep. Quote the Gambler

    Morning Chris

The storm has finally moved out of the area but left A lot of damage and flooded streets and freeways . it also created a few very deep and large sinkholes , one in particular in the I-15 just a couple miles from me on the Cajon Pass

That particular sinkhole swallowed up a fire truck while responding to a accident on that freeway in that location

I've not been outside my place as of yet to see if there is anymore storm damage but I expect to see landslides , mud&debris flows everywhere . just checked the weather and we're still currently under a flash flood watch
