My google skills are sub-par tonight. Trying to get Icon 2.5 rear installed in a 2013 6 lugger. My problem is that I have two different serial numbers on them and I'm curious if this is a passenger/driver difference, or was I sent a wrong part? SN: 64161 & SN: 60994

I was able to get pass side in fine but unable to get the bottom mount bolt through on the driver side. (very slightly off) Is it possible my misalignment spacer orientation is off and causing this? (thicker spacer facing outward or inward)? Nonetheless, the mismatching serial numbers are bothering me since nothing is mentioned in the "instruction sheet" or turning up on google.

    Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

found this on an fj forum
so maybe the sn's are irrelevant... but the misalignment spacers still baffle me.

Those numbers you are showing are the serial numbers not the part numbers so they will be different.

On the spacers, that doesn't look right having just one of them different.. I would think if there was a need for the one on the right to be different that each side would have obe like that.

When I installed my 2.0's I did have an issue with one side not quite lining up like that where it was a little too low. I was able to insert a punch and leverage it up to get the bolt through the other side. That may or may not be the same issue. Take a look at the King thread regarding rear shocks not fitting. It looks like a similar issue and the solution near the end of the thread may work for you as well.

Found it. I will give it a shot. The orientation of the misalignment spacers is still a concern for me since only one of the spacers is drastically different from the other 3. Going to try different combinations of the spacers till I get either lucky or get the closest. Without any spacers at all the bolt goes through easily.

I am wondering if the standard allpro leaf is causing this, the guy that had troble with the kings was also using them.

Interesting that you are running AP Standards as well. I'm going to say there has to be something related to that. When I ran into the issue it was right after installing my AP Standards. I didn't correlate it though because I replaced my shocks at the same time as the leafs with a longer set of Icon 2.0's.

Things that make you go :notsure:
Did your 2.0 spacers look similar to mine? I probably would have never noticed it if I didnt un-install the pass side trying to figure out the issue.

I never noticed my 2.0's having spacers, unless they were pressed in and I just didn't know it. The 2.5's may be different on the bottom bearing. I'm planning to pull one out today to take some measurements anyway so I will take a look.

@Gramps did your rear 2.5's require spacers on the bottom shock mount?

They come from the factory with a ziptie holding them in. They may or may not fall out when you snip the zip tie to install them. I just moved them around so much to not remember the orientation. They are not marked driver/passanger like the front coilovers were.

Yeah neither set of mine had anything zip tied. I've had the standard ext travel 2.0 and now custom length 2.0's. Hopefully Gramps will chime in, I know he has the 2.5 rears.

You have to "massage" the inside of the shock mount, if you are going to run 2.5 shocks, because of the bigger eyelet on the bottom, it has nothing to do with leafs.

I have no problem "massaging" just curious what orientaion to use the misalignment spacers before i start making them fit. With every possible combo of spacer the bolt is about 1/4 in off going through the inside lower mount hole. Without any spacer the bolt goes in with ease. There has to be a reason one of the spacers is much larger than the others and not tapered.

Sorry if I am being repetitive or redundant. I am just a do it right the first time kind of guy.

I agree with your thinking and I don't think that one spacer is the correct one. Wondering if it missed the machining to get the taper of the others or just got placed in the wrong bin and ended up in your kit.
Hopefully someone can verify that for you with the same coilovers.

I have kings, so I am of no help, but I would guess that spacer fell through the qc cracks and missed machining.
