WOW, didn't even see the truck at first. Even without a story, this gets my vote.

That's okay, as long as your friends were around to snap pictures for future enjoyment (or embarrassment). o_O

I'm happy I'm old enough that youtube and camera phones were not around when I was young and dumb.

@batshitcrazy your name is very fitting!

I think Toyota needs to make a Toyota Tacoma police/emergency package... To begin with it would be just like a non-SR5 base model but it would come standard with intermittent wipers...

Then just use your imagination and think like Elwood Blues... Cop motor, cop tires, cop suspension, cop chassis, etc...

I love mini vans. I think the Ridgeline is a great vehicle.
I think it fills in the niche for people who need a truck bed for Ikea boxes but don't plan to off-road or tow anything too heavy.
It's like buying a crossover SUV to get groceries and drive your kids to school vs something that will cross MOAB.
Technically, a Ridgeline is all I need... But I'm not going there haha

Lately I've been sharing some photos and stories of my uncle's awesome vehicles (past and present). One TW member asked me for my uncle's number so I figured I'd post this...

Whether you drive a Tacoma or not and mess up your rim(s), look at the picture for all the info you need. My uncle can work miracles with wheels! I would not be shocked if many people on TW who live in Myrtle Beach have heard of my uncle and his business...

Uncle's current vehicles featured on TW:

Gone but not forgotten (unfortunately the only pics I have of the Corvette and the Datsun are pre-restoration):
    The former shop van
    One of many Ford Rangers
    Mazda B2200 SE-5
    Datsun 280Z
    1991 Toyota pickup "shop truck"

    2000 Porsche Boxster S

This in my opinion is no ordinary Boxster S. The original owner ordered with a ton of options, including the full leather interior with yellow stitching. The original owner paid like $65K and when my uncle bought it from the original owner last September he paid like $12K! These pics were taken when he just bought the car, but it still hasn't changed much. The car is totally stock except for a recently added CD player with Bluetooth.

My favorite is a night I don't remember much of. It involved me hanging out with my best friends and their husbands. The two ladies went off to drink wine and talk about their kids and I stuck with the husbands because I don't like wine and I don't have kids. Keep in mind here that these dudes are like 6'+ buff military dudes that can put 'em back like water. I, on the other hand, have an awesome alcohol tolerance, but am only 5'3. So somehow we find ourselves sitting around some shot glasses and a full bottle of tequila. I can't resist a challenge, so I'm keeping up with them, shot for shot. We must've been at least 6 deep before it all went south. One of the other guys took his shot but spit it back out. In all my brilliance, I picked up that same backwashed shot and took it myself. The only thing I remember after this was waking up on the living room floor with one of the husbands and the dog, the wives making sure none of us died in our sleep. Good times.

One Fourth of July, that other husband was drunk off his ass and shot me in the stomach with a Roman candle. Still have a nice scar there.

I've also learned the hard way that no one should ever make me do Jell-O shots and then turn around and get in the back seat of a car. Nothing good comes of this.

A few years back, one of our buddies in Eastern WA was turning 21, so we drove from Western WA to celebrate. We took him out to our favorite gay bar where we proceeded to pour at least 3 or 4 AMFs into him. He did some karaoke and danced for hours before we finally decided to cart his ass home. He's drunk off his ass, and so am I and the two guys that came with. Our DD is holding strong, but it takes everything she's got to get us down the city streets. The Birthday Boy gets tired at one point and ends up falling asleep in a flower planter on the sidewalk. He basically can't walk at this point, so one of the guys gets him in a firemans carry over his shoulder and carts him back to the truck. Unfortunately, my Taco was the only vehicle big enough for all of us, so we get the drunk birthday boy in the passenger seat and the rest of us drunkards squeeze in the back. Birthday Boy pukes down the door of my Tacoma twice on the way back home. I'm drunk enough at this point that I don't even care. We get him as far as the garage at home and decide to leave him there. The next morning, I am not pleased about the Taco and the Birthday Boy feels terrible. He actually went out and cleaned it up pretty damn well. Luckily, the smell didn't linger. And this, my friends, is why my truck doesn't alllw drunk people inside of it anymore.

Most jobs suck. That's why they have to pay people to do them.

Being a barback most certainly does not suck... It isn't glamorous, but unlike retail, you actually feel appreciated...

Also, for most people it is an incredibly easy job... On top of that, you typically make way more than minimum wage (I make $10 per hour), but that is before tipouts from bartenders and other various kickbacks...

I'd also like to point out that while my official job title is barback, I am more of a runner. I'm the guy with the Tacoma who can show up at a moment's notice and come to the rescue when supplies are low.

I have barbacked before, but my awesome boss realized that while I don't do so well behind the bar on really busy nights, I do amazing as a "runner."

Barbacks really are the unsung heroes of the industry...
