No, the setup ties into the truck's charging system, so the alternator will charge the 2nd battery as well.

Tempting, but the problem with this world is that it's not against the law to be asshole, but it is against the law to kick someone's ass even if they deserve it...

My dad owned two convertibles. In 2005 he purchased a used 2003 Honda S2000 that I joking called his "Midlife Crisis-Mobile." Being a Honda, the car was great, but uncomfortable for everyday driving. 6 months later he sold it and bought a 2002 BMW 325Ci. My dad was understandably worried about jerks dumping shit on his leather interior, but there was on obviously solution... just put the top up when you park a convertible and leave it unattended. Unfortunately a pickup bed is always open and aftermarket "solutions" are not cheap to install...

How does this cost? And I have an Interstate Mega-Tron battery installed in my truck right now, less than 2 years old. This battery is properly sized for my truck, but in terms of sheer power is overkill for a daily driven 4-banger Tacoma... It also was not cheap and probably has another 3-5 years left in it. Will I be able to keep this battery and use a different brand one as the backup?

True. I did actually kick someone's ass once, but I was 11 years old... This world is too litigious to be a vigilante...

Fairly easy to install. I put mine on in an hour or so. I bought mine on here from a TW member, so it was quite cheap for me.IMG_2519.jpg

Was involved in a minor accident last December where the left front corner and specifically most of the damage. The damage was unique in that it rearranged my front end more than damaged it. Some internal parts had to be bent back for it to look normal again. Cost about $1,100 to fix. The only thing that had to be replaced was the front bumper. Everything was just fixed. Damage has since been fixed but when driving my truck my dad noticed that the headlights look a little off-kilter...

I looked closely at the headlights and there's no obvious clues that they are out of whack. I hope this isn't a major fix. The headlights work fine and I haven't been pulled over for an equipment violation so my truck is safe, but my plan is to just have them adjusted at the dealer when I get a part replaced under warranty next month (horn... long story... will tell story to anyone interested). Does this sound like a major problem?

    Day of fender-bender...

During repairs (Gives you an idea of what was done; again, only front bumper was replaced)…

One time I was driving in Doylestown Borough about 2 years ago and ended up behind a Kia Soul full of college-age people at a red light. The car was at capacity, and all the windows were down. A cigarette butt flies out a window, and I was pretty annoyed. Then, a second cigarette from a different passanger. Still say nothing. A third cigarette from a third passenger. Enraged and with my windows down too, I shouted "Doesn't a Kia Soul come with a goddamn ashtray!?!?" I know they heard me but they ignored me and drove off when the light turned green, but I have a feeling they got the message...

    Some
you should be able to get at least 100k miles out of them. but when you have to replace it gets costly. if your looking to lift it after market would be best. some can be rebuilt. if you just want to keep it factory then stick with the toyota stuff.

Will probably stick with the stock then...

Have ever heard of this? My dad had a 1990 Mazda B2600i 4x4 and one of the rear leaf springs rusted. The truck was like 9 years old at the time, my dad only bought it as a cheap commuter, and none of the options were cheap. He wound up just getting a new factory Mazda spring. Another option was a wrecked donor truck. One salvage yard had a wrecked B-series like my dads, but taking the springs from that truck would have required replacing both springs. Only ONE was bad, and when my opted for the new spring only the bad one had to be replaced...

And is the 4-speed automatic any good? A lot of people I've met who have high-mileage trucks have reported going through two automatic transmissions in less than 400K miles while keeping the same engine.
