Soaked Seatbelt

California is getting rain right now (yeaaaa) I got into my truck yesterday to go home and I pulled the seatbelt and it was Soaked to the core. The passenger side was fine.

Again it rained today, the seatbelt is wet. Wakes you up for sure though.

Does anyone have any thoughts? Has this happened to anyone? The door was shut, there is no water showing anywhere else.

 

Do you have a sunroof?

What about roof rack? (can leak at the mounting holes)

Sounds like a trip to the dealer is needed. Something is leaking and needs to be found and fixed.

 

No sunroof. Dealer installed roof rack, but no sign of water anywhere else. This was a thought but it seems to be lower. The belt at the top is dry. Its when you pull it out to use it, then the wet part is right on the shoulder.

 

Gotta be sunroof, then again does the Pro even have a sunroof?

EDIT: see you do, this is the issue, silicone those holes up. Or take it to the dealer.

First Pro with a leak!

 

Will do. I will try on Monday. (holiday) if not, Tuesday.

 

2nd that - I had a small leak like this when I first installed my Prinsu rack. If dealer installed I'd take it to them make sure it's on record. If not, easy fix with some good silicone sealant.

 

Does sound like a roof rack, keep us updated after the dealer visit.

 

Roof rack, mine did the exact same thing. Since it's dealer installed, make them fix it.

 

Update: The Dealer couldn't replicate the issue. They gave the truck to the kid that does the pressure washings and pummeled the roof racks. Nothing. I have had it happen twice since it rained. They claim they disassembled the B pillar and found no signs of staining in the pillar or in the headliner.

If the issue occurs again, take the truck to another dealership. I guarantee the pressure wash kid took maybe 20 seconds and said everything looked fine.

Naaa. This isnt my problem, per se. This is theirs. Sounds petty but the truck is new, it's their top of the line rig. I have the confidence in the visit. What I suspect happened, it was checked, maybe something was seen, all has been sealed, no problem was found here's your truck.

Its on paper, if it happens again that makes them look bad.

 

Yeah, it happened to me but I installed the rack myself so I just took the screws off and used silicone.
