Here is a pic of one on my buddies Short bed DC. He also bought the air mattress that uses the tailgate, it fits around the fender wells. He is 6'6 and fits in there with his girl, its tight but it works. He fits no problem by himself. Another cool thing is the tent and mattress take almost no room packed up.

I'm not trying to be a smart a$$, but why have the tent set up in the bed of the truck? I am heading to TX soon with my KTM in the back, and a tent in a bag.. There is almost always room to set up a tent on the ground. You don't have to take it down to go get more beer..

    Just curious..

My .02 fwiw. I don't have one of these bed tents, but I really want one.

I always drink beer outside of the tent and pretty much only sleep in them. Above ground is better to keep away from curious wildlife that may come around your campsite while you're alseep.

If I really want to drink beer in the tent, I'll just put a cooler in the back seat and grab one through the sliding door. :D

No Texas is not all sandy and soft. In fact most of TX is extremely harsh, arid, rocky, and difficult terrain. It can be a real advantage to have the tent elevated off the ground for bugs, rain storms, etc. Plus if in a remote area where the tent is used prob would not be an issue to stay put once the tent is in place. And if a beer drinker, then get it ahead of time before putting the tent up and you're all set. I don't drink alcohol so no worries for me anyway.

Yeah I've lived in Texas most of my life and I agree. Most of Texas is the opposite of soft and sandy
