    Its a ticking time bomb!

Honestly though, you see little/no issue with this truck pegged at 3500+ RPM on a long distance haul (1300 mi)?

Are those front seat covers designed so the in seat airbags can deploy properly?

I don't understand this. You do understand this engine develops it max torque 3700-4000RPM. Why would you be afraid to drive the truck where it is designed to make power. I would run this thing a 4K all the way across country in a heart beat. It would be like me say I wont drive my F350 coal burner at 1900 RPM. It redlines at 3K. You need to drive this truck in it's power band it wont blow up.

Yes Clazzio covers are prepared properly in the airbag areas of seats for normal deployment.

Like I've said previous, I towed a similar load when I first purchased the truck and the rpms hung around the 2500-2700 range. My main complaint is; why now, after 11k miles is it needing to be so high in revs to pull roughly the same weight?
Keep in mind that this trailer was completely empty. I'm going to at least double that weight. Just understand that I'm a bit hesitant of the capabilities if it struggled this much at less than 1/3 it's towing capacity.

Regardless, I will be making this trip, it is what it is.
If the consensus is that I should be ok rolling such high revs (in my opinion) for such a long distance, then I will have a little more peace of mind.

5100 fronts and bilsteins on back but I forgot what # and a 1 inch block
5100s all around and not sure what they are set at but think it's 2 inches . I also have a 1 inch block in back . I've been dealing with the same guys at 4wheelparts in Plano Texas for 10 years so I just tell them what I want it to look like and let them go !

Check the trailer out good. Maker sure the brakes are not dragging if equipped. Need to do that with it plugged in to the truck if electric. Also check to see if the wheel bearings are not dragging or are greased. It would not be the first time a trailer got delivered with dry wheel bearings. Maybe you had a head wind on the last tow? Wind will make a huge difference in the amount of energy needed to tow a box trailer. 5MPH wind will have a significant impact.

The Tacoma has an oversquare (short stroke ) engine. Here is some reading on it . In short , you can run a short stroke engine all day at higher rpms, and a long stroke cannot be run at high rpms for long . Think 1969 Chevy Z28 with the chevy 302 .

Well I have no idea of knowing what your expierencing and the speeds your traveling (your hauling ass arent you lol) but I have never had any indicators of drive train failure and I've towed a bigger and less aerodynamic trailer with my lifted 16 thousands of miles across the western US. I also only tow in sport mode and have a good understanding of where the 3.5 makes power. Also for the safety of myself and those traveling with me 65mph is the absolute maxium with a trailer in tow. This also improves fuel milage and drive train wear.
The taco isn't the ideal tow rig but until I'm comfortable dropping the cash on a 3500 and a dedicated trail ride my 16 is doing a damn fine job of both. I love my Taco but will say unless your going offroad frequently you might be happier in almost anything else. I consider mine a Jeep that tows really really well.:militarypress::mudding:

Could you share what they charged you to install the 5100s and block? I just bought wheels/tires at the Dallas 4wheelparts

I'm thinking 2 toggle switches. 1 for power and 1 for accessory. Then push button or rocker to turn the starter over. I know enough about electrical to not get shocked but I'm having trouble finding the wiring diagram.
