In my third gen on the freeway onramp. Got my doors absolutely blown off. I had no idea those things were so ballsy! My wife even commented "damn that truck hauls ass"

The stock ecoboost is Power: 375 hp @ 5000 rpm, Torque: 470 lb-ft @ 2500 rpm; a tune will produce much more :)

V6 twin turbo with a ton of torque down low (and a ton more HP too) vs a V6 NA that doesn't have much torque until high up. Seems legit.

Also, can you please sell your Tacoma so we don't have to deal with you anymore?

The 2.7 eco is the faster 0-60 of the 150's. Pretty crazy how much power they were able to get out of those things.

Buddy picked up a 2017 XLT 4x4 Super Crew 2.7 with rear locker and 34gal tank for 35k. And it can tow 8,800 I think. :stirthepot:

Still not crazy about the small displacement engines in trucks. Why not give us the V8 and the turbos? :burnrubber:

I wondered if his wife thought less of him given the way it turned out.

I've driven eco-boost and 5.0 V8 F150's and I'd take the eco-boost every time, awesome trucks! The 5.0 isn't far off on mileage though, if you have a heavy foot that is.

The 2.7L is iron block right? Can it take as much boost as a 2JZ?

I tested drove a 2017 2 days ago with the 3.5L turbo eco , and 10 speed and dual fuel injection system . All I can say is holly shite !. I may for looking for a left over 2017 this fall or next spring if the latest trans fix does not work well on my Tacoma . If they put it in the new Ranger they could call it the Mach 1 Rangerstang .

Ford is releasing the Coyote Ecoboost in 2019. Rumors are it will hit the Raptor first and possibly the Platinum later. The reason they don't want to do it is that it won't show any fuel savings but put down the power of a V12 lol.

They are pretty stout. I'd probably get the 5.0L as I'm not sure about longevity of the turbo parts. They are impressive in the power department though.
