My only choices to get it done this week are Dakars (with 3rd leaf removed), Deaver U402's or Icon AAL. I'm leaning toward Dakars because the Deavers will add closer to 2.5" which would make me tail up a little.

yes it will I forgot about removing the 3rd leaf. I'm not sure though cause you have a 3rd gen they are a little heavier then the 2nd gen

AP/Dakar both give 2.5 from the factory. My AP standards are quiet as a mouse, they come with isolators already installed. Both great leaf choices, just get whichever can be had cheaper lol

the Deavers are very nice packs I ran them in the 2007 baja 1000 on a 1st gen. they took a heck of a lot of abuse and never let us down. they are still on the truck to this day.

I agree, they seem to be nice however can't be brought down to around 2" without much effort. I'm leery of going over 2" because that means new shocks and tail up.

I'm hoping this is true. It would be great if the Dakars I get were the newest version.

I'm running Bilstein 5100's on all four corners. I know they're good to a max of 2" on the rear. I believe I still am using the stock coils.

ah. the Dakars I think are your best option with either the 3rd leaf or top overload removed. definately look for newer version of them. and grease the bushes well when you install.

Yeah, that's what I'm figuring. Thanks for the help. I'll make sure to pass this along to the people that are installing it for me.

My Dakars have been dead ass silent for a whole year now.

Just swapped the bushing and grease the shit out of em. Done.

They must have changed something, because I had heard horror stories about squeaking.

My stock 3+1 leafs squeaked all day and night.

Dakars, quiet as could be. Very very happy.

I feel like I made my truck right.

Did you guys do the cmc yourself or go somewhere to have it done, I have no welding experience but kind of want to go with 285's instead of stay with 265's

If I get the front 5100's and new OME coils will the extra lift help? How much lift is needed to do no cmc work?
    Thanks guys:thumbsup:

I had the CMC done by JBM Motoring in Orange, CA. Are you getting new UCAs? I didn't rub at all on the CM with stock UCAs, Maxtracs and 285/70R17's. Instead, I rubbed on the front fender liners.
