Would you buy again ?

Nope. I would, however buy what I originally went out looking for. 2.7/5 speed/4x4 access cab. Most of my complaints stem from the drivetrain in mine. I had a 2009 with the 2.7 and loved it.

 

The 2.7L is bulletproof

People have been seen 500k miles out of this with barely any maintenance

Recently a guy went 1M miles in that motor

 

You have all that u listed in it, but yet you wouldn't do it again? Why? Doesn't seem to make sense? What complaints do you have? If you say trans, did the gears not fix it?

 

Definitely not. Went looking at new vehicles today and took a much better look at what $40-45K gets you... My truck is currently getting fixed and I don't even want it back.

It would be interesting to see where the disappointed buyers were coming from. I came from a 2008 DCSB Tacoma and my 2017 is a massive upgrade in all aspects; Comfort, quality, technology, standard equipment, power, and looks. Absolutely would buy again.

 

Is it possible for you not take it back ?

 

Ive wondered too why all of us econ model owners are happy with their trucks. I feel like my truck is very comfortable and has everything I needed from it. I feel like I got my moneys worth from my $24k purchase. Can't imagine spending nearly twice that and thinking it was a piece of junk. I did come from a 94 Ranger with 160k miles on it so anything was a huge upgrade to me.

 

I was talking about the 17, which is stock. The 2009, which had all that stuff, was the one I liked. But, unfortunately that truck got to boned.

 

I'm just shy of 30,000 miles on mine (Dec 2015) and well, I probably wouldn't. I would have simply kept my 5.7L Tundra, or wait on the Ranger to see what competition comes along. If they throw even the 2.7L EcoBoost in a midsize platform it could be great. If the interior, features, and looks hold up I can see them making a good dent in the Tacomas market share. More so than GM has even.

My complaints would be the perpetually squeaking leaf springs even after full replacement, lack of low end torque, needing to drop to 4th gear all the time for wind or slight hills, and a cramped back seat even in the double cab for adults anyway.

It's still the best option for me however. I might have preferred a T4R but I do use the bed for things I wouldn't want in the cab sometimes. And I love the looks of the 3rd gen.

Until I'm settled into a new career and have some more financial room some amount of years down the line I'm pretty much stuck with it but I'm totally okay with that as I've made it my own now and despite the issues I'm mostly happy. There's just room for improvements. But like I said, if I did it again I'd just keep my Tundra for another 100K miles.

 

Yes...I love it. It replaces a '14 TRD Sport, which I also loved. I can see what people are complaining about on the '17. But I haven't had any issues that I've even thought about taking it in to be "repaired" over. I love it.

 

I would in no doubt buy this truck again, its a great truck. If my budget allowed, I would have been leaning towards the Tundra.
The only reason would be for cab space in the Crew-Max. The Tacoma is a little tight with carseats in the backseat. I know, for what I paid for the Tacoma I could have got a Crew-Max but a lower end model. Sacrificed some space for creature comforts.

The 1st issue I have with my 2.7 auto, will be my last because I will trade it for a Mazda CX-5. If I need a truck... I'll rent one from U-Haul.

I bought the 2.7 because of it's reliability.

 

Absolutely without a doubt. Not one second guess a purchase. 20000 miles no major issues

 

NO NO NO nothing but problems, Would of kept my 2010
