Thinking of going to ORI struts in the rear, in conjunction with my leaf springs, so that I can tailor the ORIs to match the weight in the bed.

Right now the minimum that I run around with is a 35" spare. The max is a RTT, 20 gallons of fuel, a winch, camping gear, etc.

well...i doubt that would do what you want.

Plus, the valving is pretty limited on the ORI's. Basically plug holes with screws. Brady would know more about that as he has dealt with them. @BradyT88 I know he mobs his front ones pretty hard and wishes he could slow the compression more but can't.

Plus they change a lot with temperature so not sure they would prove useful in that regard considering where you were. We had major problems with my dads in the fuckin cold. Couldn't cope with the weight was what we figured. Sold them to a friend who still rockin them on a single cab 2nd gen no problem.

I think fox offered something similar to the ori stuff with less drawbacks. @Evenflow seemed to know a little bit more about them

Also I'm looking at the 2+ per side and 3.5+ per side
Is the extra 1.5 inch of travel that the 3.5 kit has worth it or is it more for looks?

The 3.5 kit definetly offers more performance. The +2 kit was developed to fit within class specifications at the Dakar rally. It performs better than stock and if you aren't trying to haul ass, go Lt in the rear, or run fiberglass it's a good choice.

More travel is better for suspension performance. How much better depends on how it's tuned and what your use is.

    Read the tacked threads.

I got mine for function, that being said I havnt rode in a 2+ to compare the benefits of the 3.5 over the 2+. I would rather get more travel than not, but thats me.

Mainly would just be using it for trail running and crawling, sometimes desert or dunes.

How does your suspension hold up now? Does it lack at all for what you want? I got LT because I like to drive moderatly fast and def appreciate the added articulation. Depending on your plans for the rear can help determine for the front.

The 3.5 kit is WIDE! There are some trails I hang my tires over the edge while my buddies with there 2nd gens are in the "W". For trails or crawling the 2" kit will be good. Tuned right it can be really good in the desert and dunes.

It's good, but Its not the best for what I do with it (ome shocks ,88x coils, dakar leafs). I like to fly and crawl. It doesn't articulate well enough and I've bottomed it out in dunes and whoops.
If I go 3.5+ I'll do a sua in the rear
If I go 2+ I'll probably get the all pro expo leaf pack

Both of those set ups are a little bit of a different approach. I guess do you want to be more prerunner style or expo? The full LT SUA rears tend to not be as ideal for hauling stuff in the bed vs the all pro pack will be. I have a mixed rear as it is a SUA mid travel set up that can handle decent weight in the bed.

I would like it to be able to carry some weight, I have a shell that goes on and off and Planning to put a RRT on top of that. Something in the middle would ideally be perfect

@sytfu510, actually he has done this with a full LT set up and can probably chime in better than me on this.

Did you read the tacked threads?

Going to be brutally honest here for your own benefit - You sure LT is the right choice? Front and rear LT you are looking at $10,000.

Front LT without rear LT is like fake tits on a fat chick. Looks good, but doesn't perform as good as the whole package.
