    Hi All,

I recently purchased an all pro bumper and want to install a winch with it.

I saw that all pro suggests the Warn 9.5x. What is everyone else running?

I was considering the 9000i but not sure if it will fit without modifications to the bumper.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks,

    Kris

I've been looking at super winch...Warn seems like they are a little too proud of their products for my taste.

As in they cost WAY the hell too much for what your getting. Seen some reviews of similar product at 1/3 to 1/2 the cost like super-winch. Kind of like Toyota is too proud of their accessories.

Will the XRC10 fit without modification to the bumper?

Hows the reliability of Smitybilt compared to others?

Thanks for the find. Sounds like a good deal...

I was looking at the XRC 10, they are good winches, never found anything bad. Well one thing, I talked to an off road shop and they said you cant get parts for the smittybuilts. Now I dont know if this is true, they probably just wanted me to buy a Warn from them, but just food for though. I went with the Warn XD9000 like Relentlesstaco said, got it for $723 shipped off the refurbs page. I was hesitant but talking to the guy, they are returns only, they havent been used, but they re-test them to make sure they work properly.

Warn 9.5xp. Never looked back. THis winch has endured MANY hard pulls and recoveries, and never faltered. It has paid for itself many times over.

I went with the warn m8000. it is almost identical in size and cost to the smity xrc10 my buddy has on his jeep. both solid winches, warn is better quality i think. 8000lbs is plenty for most situations, if you need more pulling power, use a snatch block for some mechanical advantage and let physics do your pulling instead of your wallet

No smittybuilt parts are easy to get, and if something breaks, you can just call them and they will usually just send you the part for free. Hear of this happen on many occasions (most of the time was they guy screwed up the wiring trying to relocate solenoid, they sent new ones for free).

I have an XRC8 and love it, the news ones are night and day better than the old ones (new motor, ect). THere are a few upgrades I would do to it when you first get it though (see my writeup: http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/product-reviews/85301-smittybuilt-xrc-8-maintenance.html)
