I'll have to look to see if I have mine. I haven't had to use a spare yet. Knock on wood. But I just assumed the key was part of the jack assembly.

The one's I've seen are more like a wheel lock looking socket that is loose, and entirely too easy to loose. Might want to look.

Yeah the last piece of the puzzle I have is the hook. Wtf? My Ranger was so much easier to access the spare tire... it had a long key that removed a lock then you just cranked it with the jack parts. I never lost the key because it was huge and fit in the glove box.

 

I guess you could always just leave the lock off the Ranger too
