So tonight's adventures of on my back in the snow and ice in the drive way involved

    0. Cold feet and hands and covered in gas and a mad wife
    1. Cleaned the mass air flow sensor
    2. Used t body cleaner in the t body
    3. Took fuel filter off and drained crap out of it.
    4. Reinstalled old filter as I want to clean tank before new filter.
    5. Was going to put the new filter on red truck but everything is rusted and I did not want to chance braking anything.
    6. Checked igniter box for messed up pins and condition
    7. Put sea foam in tank and drove around the block with the dog in low 4x4 and auto in L around 3000rpm's
    8. Noticed the tube on top of the motor that I referenced earlier that has nothing hooked up to it, checked 02 and there is a hose that goes into t body. NO fittings on 04. 02 is Canadian truck 04 USA truck
    9. Waisted $12 on sea foam :(
    10. Injectors will have to come out

Did this truck have a remote start? I usually see those Scotch Locks near that wiring when a half assed remote start or alarm is installed.

Just to cross it off the list, investigate what that scotch lock is doing. They are known for poor connections/wrong size wire/climate change etc. Folks sometimes use them to splice 2 wires together in addition to creating a tap. That one may have been for a tachometer signal.
The igniter needs good clean connections.

I was thinking same thing, for a tach or I wonder if wiring for an aftermarket alarm/theft security would tap in there for a kill switch type thing?

Scotch locks cause nothing but grief. Open it up and look at all the nice green shit inside. If there is one, there will be more. Search and destroy. They seem to be popular. Never should have been invented.

I'd replace the vac line before you get too far into tearing stuff apart.

The 04 does not have the round thing the vac line goes on as seen in your picture, and on the manifold there is no elbow

the 04 is also a AUTO
My 02 has it and is a 5sp

    Might be the difference ?

    Thanks

Correct, that hard line was used on earlier models (pictured above) without ETC to operate the "throttle opener". Your 04 has ETC and no TO and no IAC valve.

It could, a switch on the power lead would definitely halt ignition but might set an "igniter circuit" code.

There are 9 wires in the picture ...... the wiring diagram has 4 from the igniter or am i missing something ?
Is there any risk of hurting my igniter if i test it with the one from my daily driver 02 ?
