Been a long time lurker on tw and finally getting around to making a build thread.

Bought the truck used about 7 years ago with 68k a spacer lift and 33s

Shortly after I did a cmc and added 34" big all terrains and trailer products glass

Unfortunately I can't find any photos of this stage

Next stage was some 35" mud terrains, midtravel with kings, bump stops, limit straps and all pro expos.

Forgot to mention the relentless bumper which has saved my ass on numerous occasions.

Shortly after this photo was taken, I got divorced, the new girlfriend and I decided it was time for a change so we bought a 24' camper, loaded up all our possessions and made the cross country trek to NC
    20160102_132609.jpg
First trip out with the camper
    received_10212739895198718.jpg
    All loaded up
I was very impressed with the taco, it out pulled the moving van and averaged 13mpg the whole 260p miles. We had a lot of help from the weight distribution hitch all pro Springs and brake controller. Only blew one trailer tire on the way.

    More to come

After getting to NC we stayed in a camp ground in asheville while we waited for our house to close. Canoeing for the first time

Added a Satoshi grille thanks to my girl for the awesome present
Also added tow mirrorsreceived_10212739923599428.jpgGot Nina a transit for work, turns out it was a total pos. Had all kinds of trouble from it, so I decided to let the dog drive it which resulted in this

Just kidding, she was in front of me when someone stopped in the road after an illegal turn which caused me to rear end her and a 4 car pileup

Pretty bummed about the truck as my insurance had lapsed just before the accident, frame is bent slightly but the relentless bumper saved from a whole lot more damage.

Got Nina a new truck to replace the 90 which got my old 35,sreceived_10212739998161292.jpg
The new truck, decided to keep it toyota after the Ford fiascoreceived_10212739999921336.jpg

The accident gave me a great excuse to do some things I had been holding off on for years. The plan was originally to plate the frame do some chevy 63's and 37's but it quickly spiraled out of control once I got her apart and saw the damage.

Which leads me to the next phase of full blown teardown and rebuild.

Started tearing the truck apart, got the bed off and started removing everything

Original plan was to plate the frame but after tearing it apart decided to just build a whole new rear frame.
    20161106_203044.jpg

Cut the humps off the frame and used it as a jig to build the new frame from rectangular steel and dom

Frame starting to take shape all level and square

Took the frame off to fully weld

Got the new frame welded on behind the cab and cut the factory frame off. Added some tube for good measure. You can see the ruffstuff shock towers here as well
    20170124_202504.jpg
Welded on frame outriggers for the shackles to mount to and started plating the transition

    Things are coming along nicely
Picked up an rci fuel cell and started tube work
    20170204_174521.jpg
Primed the frame, chopped the tailgate and test fitted. Also got the 63 swap tacked in place

Some more updates, still not up to date on what's been done so far.
    IMG_20170212_193855_433.jpg
Clearanced the inner wheel wells and firewall
    IMG_20170212_170800_197.jpg
I cut it back a lot, should be able to stuff 40' s or better when I do the sas by moving the axle forward an inch and a half or so

Also cut the front cab mount off and modified a ruffstuff frame outrigger that I welded on upside down for the new cab mount. With delrin pucks instead of the soft rubber that comes on the factory mount.

    20170218_210520.jpg
New cab mount on and tacking on the firewall plates

    20170212_192917.jpg
Making sure the fenders line up and clear, will trim the lower portion when I can get it out of the garage and flex it out.

    20170212_193042.jpg
Gutted the interior going to bed line it all.

    20170213_141524.jpg
Cut off the old booster rod to make an adapter from the t100 booster to the factory pedals.
    IMG_20170217_155520.jpg
Proportioning valve and hydraulic e brake for the rear since I'm using a 60 with ruffstuff disc brakes and the entire brake pedal simply wouldn't have fit after tubbing the firewall and floor area
    20170218_210537.jpg

    20170217_210050.jpg
Made up a bracket and mounted to the center console area. Braided line from prop valve to brake.
    20170217_210152.jpg
Cleaned up the wiring and raised the fuse box, I will make a bracket later.
T100 master cylinder with an fittings and braided lines. Front goes to a tee mounted on the strut tower, one braided line from tee to drivers side hardline on the frame rail. Need to make a hard line to the passenger side.
    20170217_210258.jpg
Working on the intake setup a bit, I hate the factory design and this gives me much more room.
    20170217_210233.jpg
This shows how open the bay is now, took out the abs pump and moved wiring and power steering reservoir.

Stripped a bolt for the uca when taking stuff apart so waiting on that to arrive before I have the front end back together. New axle for the pass side, reinstalled coil overs and limit straps as well

Yesterday I got the arb locked differential installed, still have to run airline to the cab and hook up my nitrogen tank to the solenoid, and on board air setup.

Still have lots of work to do but it's getting very close, hope to have her started up tomorrow and get the rear back on wheels so I can move it around after I finish the front brakes and suspension.

Unsure as of now, if someone starts making a better cv axle I will entertain the idea of Lt assuming I can do it for under 5k Otherwise I'll keep savhing my pennies for a sas which is what I'm really shooting for.

Rcv makes some stout axles but they are 900$ a piece I believe.

That was the plan, I don't mind dropping the coin for good parts but I want to wheel it some and find the weak points before I move forward.

Suppose I could get a decent amount for my kings and control arms diff etc to put towards Lt and axles

Nice. Stoked to see the final result. I have 63s out back currently but I moved the whole stock tank into the bed. I also have a d60 from ecgs being built.

Thanks bud, I contemplated useing the stock tank but it didn't fit as well and the rci looked much better. Can't beat the price on the 60 from ecgs, great guys to work with.

Heard that. It doesn't fit as well I had to cut the bed up to make the tank fit better. Ecgs really is great and I live in Durham so it's a no brainer for me, 15 minute drive.

Yessir probably not enough capacity for expo stuff but I mainly daily it and stick to moderate trails should do the trick just fine.
