I have an 05 taco 4x4 I'm getting ready to buy a 6" lift kit my first choice was the stage 2 pro comp but that's out of my budget so I'm looking at the stage 1 pro comp and at the "Tuff Country" 6" lift almost the same as the stage 1 pro comp what I'm trying to decide is wether to go with pro comp 6" lift in the front & 3.5" in the rear or go with the "Tuff Country" 6" lift in front & 5" in the rear?

6" up front and 3.5" in the rear sounds like your truck will be higher in the front?

Oh... you meant help w/ your decision, not w/ your punctuation. My bad.

I get what your saying most defenitily i'm gonna go with the pro comp stage 1 lift kit. Do you think that "Tuff Country" is a good quality brand?.....and no I wasn't asking for help on punctuation but thanx anyways.

Front (2.75" total): 1.6" Eibach coils, Toytec 0.5" (L) & 0.25" (R) top plate spacers, 5100's @ 0.85", Built Right uniball UCA's, Differential drop, Removed sway bar Rear: TSB springs, Wheeler's 1.5" AAL, 5100's, 2* shims, Carrier bearing drop, F and R Spidertrax, 285/75-16 Goodyear Duratracs, Self-fabbed sliders, rear bumper, and skid plates, Cobra 75 CB, Bed lined slim lo-pro tool box, Bed Extender, Diff breather mod, Two tail gate security mods, Exhaust dumped behind axle, Can't leave shit alone so plenty more coming...
People always give Tuff Country a hard time. Perhaps because they cost less? I had a Tuff Country lift on my Bronco. It worked great. I put it on myself. All of the pieces fit like they were supposed to, it was quite beefy, and it drove and wheeled well.

I can't speak for their Tacoma set-up though.

if everyone has fabtech or procomp, how do u know the Tuff Country is a p.o.s? fabtech and procomp were the 1st two out, and it seem on this site people seem to follow the crowd and have the same mods on their trucks...

i also read somewhere that BDS makes a 6" kit? but idk :notsure:

The tuff Country 6" lift kit is similar to the Pro Comp Stage 1 just a lil different on the price.

I personally think that 6" lifts are a little to much unless you have a DC LB. I have a DC SB and was thinking about upgrading to a 6" lift but said the hell with it. I'm more then happy with my 3" lift.:D

i am friend with this guy. who has pretty much the only 4x4 shop here on long island and he personally would never touch the tuff country lift. he toolk 2 out of outraged taco owners however and installed procomp kits. in both cases at full flex were the front suspension droops the most the half shafts seperate from the front diff. when customers complained to tuff country the answere was thats just the way its designed.

and no no 6" bds kit.

just stick with whats reputable and stop looking for cheaper alteatives it always comes back to bite ya in the ass when u go that route.
