How many miles were on it? The reason I ask is that there are 2017's in my area that are being sold back or traded to the dealership after several months to a year of ownership.

That's brand spankin' new and probably wasn't on the lot long. I've seen V6 SR5's around that price point...your's has way more stuff/funbags/goodies on it. Well played!

Wow I felt like I got ripped off but after reading through this forum I know I got ripped off. The dealer must have sensed that I was an eager kid who really wanted a Tacoma. FML, nothing I can do now.

As I scan through these pages. I'm totally flabbergasted at the thought of paying close to 40K for a truck lol. These new trucks are reaching luxury car levels in prices.

When Toyota Safety Sense becomes standard later this year or next... I cringe at what the price point will be in the future :(

I paid over 40k because I was so eager. I wish I would have waited.

No need to think like that - "ripped off" is just a state-of mind. If you're happy with the truck console yourself with the knowledge that the difference between what you paid and what the people that got a "great deal" by paying $1000 less, is worth about 50-cents a day. So does that matter to you financially? Will it keep you from buying any of the mods you wanted? I'm guessing, no. The deal is done, go do something fun in the truck and you'll be much happier than fretting over quarters.

I got my 2017 Access Cab TRD OR 4x4 Auto back in September through the Costco purchase program. I liked the experience, no dicking around, just a final price out the door of 34,600$. That's with the tow package, OEM mats, mud flaps and bed mat.

On a side note, I sold my old car, a 2008 Honda CRV in a private sale after I got the Taco, and it was a great choice, at least 2K over what anyone would give me in trade in.

I think I did OK, not really sure though.

I just picked up my SR5 DCLB with the tow package and all weather mats from Doxon Towota in Auburn WA. This was a modification of a build they had in the queue, so it took about a month to arrive. I'd emailed back and forth with basically every dealer in Washington and this was the cheapest price I was able to get after lots of back and forth negotiating. Other states seem to have better deals, but $2,700 off MSRP seems pretty good for WA.

    $35,083 MSRP
    $32,343 Purchase Price

I believe most states have pretty specific disclosure rules regarding selling cars that had gone through a lemon law buyback, some even note it on the title. So while it's possible some of these fall in that category, any dealers selling lemoned cars without those notifications would be committing fraud.

Folks ought to verify their local laws of course as this is state specific.

Lol! My best friend from college said I was crazy paying $37k out the door price for a Tacoma. He told me "you could have gotten a fully loaded certified preowned 3 series BMW for that price.

That may be true but I wanted an off road capable pickup truck instead of an entry level luxury sedan.

Everything adds up, add tax and interest onto that and it is probably $20 a month over 5 years. Not a bunch of cash but you could do something each month with it.

I didn't get the best price for my truck but I do live in a state with only 5% tax rate and bought from a dealer with only a $112 doc fee which helped keep the fees down.
Some dealers charge ridiculous doc fees. My cousin bought a SUV a few months ago back in Georgia and had to pay a $600 doc fee! Ouch!

It does make me a little disappointed that I paid $34,830 for my TRD off road auto trans w/o the premium tech package when folks in this thread paid $32,000 for the same truck and configurations. The dealership knew they had me by the balls because my lease was due back in two days and I did not want to buy out the lease of my previous vehicle so the sales manager did not want to haggle with me and knew I was in a rush to get a new vehicle.

Also, these dealers don't take folks in their early 20s seriously at all and this is only my second vehicle purchase. My last purchase was a scion which had a no haggling price policy and it was a lease. I am not familiar with haggling.

You did great on your price with Premium and Tech Package. That one guy that said he paid $32K was mistakenly calling his deal Premium and Tech but after looking at his window sticker it said Premium Entune which is standard on TRD models.
