Unfortunately nope... I will either sell it and take a loss or trade in and add more and get a new one. I am not overly happy with it but sort of feel stuck.

I can sell it and pay off my loan at least. Just walk away and take the loss. Or add $5600 to mine and get a new one. If I could unwind this purchase I would and I haven't been that happy since the start and adding in a shitty accident has turned me right off. I'm probably just going to sell it and walk away.

I don't understand why take a loss and add $5600 to get another tacoma

You have the 17 which is newest and problematic

A "newer" one would hardly solve your issues

You need something different and reliable

Oops. Your missing half the story!! Mines currently being repaired at a body shop for a parking gate roof accident. Pretty crappy spot and repair so far. I'm probably going to go back to a car. Honda likely.

This irked me when I was dealing with GM back in 2015 when I owned my Colorado.

When I first got mine I was on TW often. New Tacoma guy and wanted to get some good information on wheeling and how to set my truck up, as this is my first Tacoma and 4x4. After 2 months I thought my truck was a sitting time bomb. I've been TW free for the past 4+ months or so and have enjoyed my truck with no issues what-so-ever. Been trolling around again here on TW for a few weeks and starting to get that "oh no, what have I done by purchasing a turd gen".

Its like the story of Chicken Little around here a lot of the times. Don't let it deter you from purchasing one.

+1. From reading some of the threads on here you'd think people ordered their truck from Amazon and were shocked when it got to their house. Seriously, how do you buy a truck and hate the color of it, the ride of it, the way it shifts, the power it has, the way the interior looks?
Are the dealers handing out pre test-drive ecstasy or something?

For the guy who was bitching b/c he didn't know his steering wheel telescoped. I measured the scope distance: a hair over 3/4" Not a ton of movement but it does telescope.

LOL, that doesn't qualify as a proper telescoping wheel...

This, is the TW shit right here.

    Well what does then?

    https://www.reference.com/vehicles/telescopic-steering-column-93ecd5ae7592a3d3

    Q:
What is a telescopic steering column?
    A:
    QUICK ANSWER
A telescopic steering column is a part which allows adjustments to the steering wheel to tilt towards or away from the driver for personal comfort and ease of use. This allows the driver to experience less discomfort while using a vehicle not suited to his height or proportions.

If I did it over again, I wouldn't. I would probably get a commuter car (like an accord) and a cheaper used 4x4 M/T truck (1st Gen Taco or a Ranger) for the trails/my truck needs.

I know the Taco fits both those needs being new and a 4x4 M/T truck, but after putting 15k miles on it and the specific issues I've had with it, I just don't feel it was worth paying 35k for (after tax). It just seems to be lacking in many areas and I'm not feeling the "bullet proof" talk I've heard so much about.

I have yet to find anything special about the truck that a much cheaper, used truck couldn't offer or do better. But this is my first new vehicle, so who knows, maybe I would have felt the same regardless of what I got.

One that offers more than 3/4 inch. That makes zero difference dude.
