    Amsoil can move over also

    http://www.valvoline.com/faqs/motor-oil/full-synthetic-motor-oil/37

How does SynPower compare to Mobil1 and Amsoil?
Valvoline's SynPower motor oils meet and exceed the same specifications as these two products.

SynPower motor oils are high performing, high-quality oils formulated with full synthetic base oils and top tier additives to provide an increased level of performance. All of Valvoline's SynPower motor oils are API licensed to ensure quality for North American vehicle application. We have specially designed SynPower 5w40 for application in high performance European or diesel passenger cars and this oil carries the specific OEM approvals such as Mercedes Benz, Volkswagen, Porsche and BMW. Our North American SynPower 5w20, 5w30 and 10w30 exceed ILSAC GF-4 requirements and carry the API starburst on the front label. SynPower is designed with extra levels of detergent and antioxidant to provide outstanding deposit and heat protection.

Yeah....I was wondering about the fact this little snippet came from a manufacturers website.

And it doesn't even really claim they are #1.

    Piss poor posting....

LOL... that statement doesn't even provide an answer to the stated question.

Valvoline's SynPower motor oils meet and exceed the same specifications as these two products. (Well what are the specifications, don't suppose it's the standard set by the API?)

Well all oils have to meet or exceed the standard API specs, well all they're saying is that it does that. Well so does Mobil 1 and Amsoil. It would be different if it says "Valvoline's SynPower motor oils meet and exceed the performance of Mobil 1 and Amsoil"

    Don't be fooled...

Our North American SynPower 5w20, 5w30 and 10w30 exceed ILSAC GF-4 requirements and carry the API starburst on the front label.

So does Generic Brand Conventional Oil....

Shame on Valvoline and their methods on trying to confuse the consumer

Oil is oil as long as it meets Toyota's standards. As long as you change it on schedule any oil is fine.

Funny Pennzoil Platinum makes the same claim. It's all marketing, and apparantly some people easily fall for it. As Humanoid already stated, pretty much any brand name oil will serve us fine when changed every 5K miles.

Disagree. It is proven fact that with a 5K mi OCI, the benefits of using any synthetic oil will not be realized.

:thumbsup:When it comes to which oil is best, it's all based on opinion. No different than Coke vs Pepsi. That's why this topic is pointless.
