    I have a crazy schedule. Message me when you know when you will be in the area. But I am usually working Sundays and Mondays 3pm to 11pm in Northfield, and over nights Fri and Sat nights.

    So I'm just about to pull the trigger on this through wheelers. 5100's all the way around, 887 coils and dakars in the rear. Im sure I'll end up with wheel spacers by the end of the instal I'm just wondering if uca's and drop diff are recommended. And if so why?

    You should probably ask @vei1side on that one. From all the information I've looked at on that question the response is that UCA's and diff drop are not "must-haves" with a modest lifts under 3".

    The shock is the same length, the coil is "preloaded" more with each notch, giving the lift.

    I'm assuming ride quality is generally superior with a 5100 at 0 with an OME 885 (or whichever is appropriate for your weight) compared to a 5100 on say, the second or third notch on the stock coil?

    That seems to be the consensus, but I haven't really seen any complaints about 5100 ride quality even preloaded with OEM coils - vs the Hitachi units on the SR, SR5, and Sports.

    I started to make that assumption as well. At some point I just need to say fuck it. And do it. (Pardon my French)

    I have 5100's at 0 on top of my MaxTrac spindles and the ride quality is good. Logic would say that the higher you run the Bilsteins the worse the ride would become.

    No they bolted right up. I measured studs to verify. I believe its the minimum you can run (.75")

    What made you go with a spindle lift? I haven't seen too many of those around.

    The fact that I could get a 4" lift that didn't mess with the factory geometry was the big one. I knew I wanted a larger lift than a standard coilover setup could provide. I ended up getting Icon UCAs to improve the alignment and Deaver Leafs to improve the ride. Still debating on getting Icon Coilovers and Rear Resis but I'm not convinced it's going to improve my ride on road that much.

    Coil bind mainly. Just be careful how much preload you have on the coils for your intended use/desired lift height. This is why most people like to keep their adjustable shocks set to 0 and use the spring for lift. Some will use the shock and coil for lift and when you do so you can run into coil bind when taking your truck off road where you will be flexing the limits of your front suspension. On the street its not much of an issue unless you are searching for potholes...lol
