I installed the TRD performance intake this afternoon. It was cheaper to buy the parts individually rather than buying the entire kit. The kits are going for around $500. I paid $300 with shipping for the kit and used my K&N drop in filter that I already bought. My first impressions are really good.....a little better throttle response. It really moves!!! I'm going to dyno the truck in a few weeks. I drove 60-65 MPH on the freeway for about 20 miles and the display registered 27.3 MPG. If nothing else, it sure looks pretty! LOL!!! One thing I noticed about the new kit is the air tube is straight... It takes out the 45 degree angle from the stock box lid

How much did you pay for your whole lift from headstrong?

No lift. I ditched the stock Goodyear Kevlars for Toyo Open Country AT II'S. About a month ago, I averaged 25.3 over 330 miles of highway and freeway driving. Between 60-75 mph. BTW....Stock tire size.

I have no idea what mine would have been stock. Lift, e rated tires and wheels were already installed when I bought it new. I'm guessing 19 isn't bad but I don't have to stop going to work till I park. Same coming home. Trip to town is 60 miles and no stops till I get there.

Definitely interested to see what the dyno has to say. Is there a noticeable difference in the sound?

    My tires are pretty wide
    that's why my
    m per g sucks
Wider tires affect the gas mileage more than taller tires
At least that's what I heard

The intake bellow is smaller than the stock one. It sounds a little deeper...more throaty....little more growl. Sounds awesome with my magna flow muffler!

I stopped caring shortly after I got my truck. It may be small but it's still a brick on wheels like all trucks. I know a lot of people care about their mpg and that's cool. But for me, it's just not important to calculate it constantly. I love lifted rigs, mud, sand, sketchy back roads, and open pastures. I'll pay to play for that lifestyle anyday.

Suspension came today Basically icon stage 4 but I got the Total Chaos UCAs instead. Did tons of research and finally landed on this setup. Can't wait to get some free time to install it. I'm thinking wheels now.

YMMV, but I've played around with different octanes and purchased fuels from different gas stations and I've noticed I easily acquire more fuel economy when driving with mid-grade (89 octane). After a while I did calculations in regards to price per gallon and miles per gallon, and I actually save money with mid-grade.

Again, YMMV, but that's just an observation I've had.
