sorry to scare you...if you look at your actual hub, you'll see a "ring" about 6 inch diameter, extruding about a half inch from your hub. your stock wheels have that same exact thing, but indented. when you put on your stock wheels, they fit together like a puzzle. that ring both centers your wheel on the hub and supports the the weight of the vehicle. the lugcentric ones (looks like the ones you got) make the lug bolts support all of the weight. her are two pictures. the first one is of a lug centric (what you have)...the second one is hubcentric (the one you need)

the angle/glare on the picture makes it hard to be 100% sure, i'm pretty sure they are lug. for safe measure i'd take them off or drive very gently to the shop that ordered them for you. if they are indeed lug centric, see if they can get an identicle pair but hubcentric, for the same price (and obviously take back the lug centrics). if they can't get the hub centrics, i'd go with the spidertraxs. an extra $50 for the spacers will be much better than a major catastrophe while driving.

best of luck with getting this figured out. sorry i had give you the bad news. keep us updated though

Hmm, that's why I was having issues with mine. Damn it. I might have to get them again with the hub centrics. Nice!

possibly nothing...but there is a lot more stress on the lug bolts then is supposed to be. the spacer is a weaker point than the hub on the truck, so if you were to hit a big bump, or a pothole at a higher speed, you could break the spacer or the lug bolts on the spacer.

here's the thread where another member was supposed to be running hubcentric, but mistakenly use lug centric http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/wheels-tires/59184-had-wheel-spacer-break-me-tonight.html

if you go to page 5 he has pictures of the 3 unbroken (lugcentric) spacers. look at those and then compare them to yours.

and according to Ryan, it was the lug bolts on the spacers that sheared off, not the stock bolts, so it couldn't have been a hub vs. lug centric issue, otherwise i would think the spacer would have sheared off the stock lug bolts...

acording to the spidertrax website 1995 and up tacos are supposed to run hub centric. his was a 2001 i believe.

i don't knwo as much about 1st gens since i don't own one, but that seemed to point right to the problem.

hub centric spacers are a relatively new thing... before that, 1st gens were running lug centric spacers...

all that means is that they finally cut spacers to be hub centric compatible with toyotas... they should have done that long ago as the yota hubs are bigger than the chevy hubs...

Ryan was fine with running lug centric spacers... his situation was something else as the spacers did not shear off the stock lugs... the wheels sheared off the spacers' lugs...

hey colin, thanks alot again man. I went and took those spacers off and got my money back. I understand the whole hubcentric and lugcentric thing now thanks to you. If i never had posted that pic and if u hadnt have told me i might have had a tire fall off or soemthing major happen. Some guys said that they were fine but that thread u showed covinced me bc mine looked just like his spacers. Im def going with the spidertrax. I like how the 1.5'' looked on my truck but ive seen alot of guys are runnning the 1.25'' on here and ive heard good things about them. What size you suggest?

Check out my gallery. I have several pictures that show how the 1.25" Spidertrax spacers sit with stock tires and later, big tires.

Just glad I could help. I actually don't think you'll even notice a difference in the width since you are talking about an overall change of only a half inch. most guys on here with spacers have the 1.25 in becasue most have the spidertrax, and they only make the 1.25s.

I think you'll be very pleased.
make sure to post more pictures when you get them in/on.....not because you'll have more problems, but because it's going to make your truck look great.
