I think you'll see more after market tuning options next year as people start to run out of warranty.

Installed the URD y pipe last week and it made a very noticeable difference in power. It is definitely worth it and it even gives a small bump in MPG.

Did you upgrade the remainder of the exhaust after the Y or just bolt back on the stock?

    Interesting...

How was the install on that?

Did you notice any increase in low end torque?

Install couldnt be much easier! I have also installed the URD Y pipe and have been experiencing some decent power gains. Did you get a check engine light from install? I have one at the moment. I also have an AFE intake, dynamic scoop, and an MBRP turn down. I have definitely experienced a noticeable increase in power from stock because now even with grippy street tires I can break the back wheels loose at will. Traction bar and hopefully a built rear diff with LSD coming next to get the power to the ground

The routing of it takes it out from under the transfer case for better ground clearance. It has an improved design for better flow and power.

Its a much better design, moves the y pipe so it is no longer the absolute lowest part of the truck like it is from the factory. It also deletes the rear cats for some better flow, and its also a dual 2.25 inch to 2.75 inch pipe for optimized flow with other mods. It gives the truck a mean sound too, one of these days ill get a ride along video but havent had time to the last few weeks have been in and out of the garage troubleshooting vibrations after lifting it. Finally got everything but the damn needle bearing vibes out

ahh, that must be it, I didn't realize the rear cats were deleted.

Is that what you think is throwing the CEL?

Should be some sort of aftermarket ECU reflashing gear available soon, especially if nobody has made a supercharger yet. Id be willing to bet this motor could easily make 300 at the wheels with a good tune.Im sure youve all noticed how the motor seems to come alive around 4K rpms? No surprise here from me, but these motors come from the factory built with forged conrods and a forged crank. Toyota tested these motors to over 8500 rpms in the development stages and they held up fine. A conservative tune could extend the redline from 6200 to ~7000~ like this engine runs every day in the new IS350, and it should hold up fine assuming the air-fuel ratios and spark timing are adjusted to compensate as well

And yes, Im pretty sure the combo of flow mods and cat delete is whats throwing the codes. The Y pipe alone shouldnt affect it because the O2 sensors are ahead of (closer to engine than) the rear cats in the exhaust to begin with, so whether or not the rear cats are there wouldnt affect it. Having significantly more flow everywhere, however, would set off the CEL. Eventually once there is tuning software ill just kill the sensors for the rear cats and be done with it

I already had the TRD Pro cat back exhaust before the y pipe and noticed much more power from the y pipe mod. Unfortunately, most of the power gains come in the high rpm range with very little improvement in the lower range so I am still considering a couple more mods to help with that area. Fortunately, I did not get any CELs and there is still zero drone on the highway. The installation was a bit more complicated that it initially looked like. The transmission had to be unbolted from the cross member that it rests on and jacked up a couple inches to clear the frame. After bolting everything up the y pipe was almost touching the cross member and caused a lot of rubbing. I contacted Gadget at URD and he responded that I needed to loosen all connections and jack up the end of the y pipe and retighten everything. This did solve the problem and the rubbing is gone.IMG_0245.jpg

I had the same issue with rubbing and came to the same fix. IM going to try shifting the pipe again and retightening the flange nuts between the header pipe and y pipe and maybe this will clear my CEL.
