Looks kinda shittacular in there.

doesn't look too hard. 2 bolts, loosenin the steering column and removing wheels/outer tie rods (to screw on the new rack). prob end up cutting the bolt heads off since toyota puts them on before the engine, so the bolts are put through the top down. Ill cut them and slide the new ones up through with the nut on top so its easier.

 

Oh yeah. Going through the gear side now. Reliving everything and rvting the seals. The grease is pretty gritty.

 

If you count the exposed threads on the tie rod ends and duplicate them when you put them on the new rack alignment will be very close or right on (assuming it is now). At least it'll be close until you can get it aligned.

 

No wonder I would have a hard time engaging the winch/freespool. Quite a bit of rust in here.

Those with t case skid plates. How much did you pay to get the pipe rerouted?

Holy crap, I think @northwesttaco and a couple other guys had theirs done here in Everett by the same guy that installed my muffler and only charged them around $100 to do it. A-1 muffler service, scruffy old guy running a one man show but definitely made quick work of my muffler.

 

Yeah Im pretty sure it was around $70. @Greddy was with me, he might remember. I think he told us $165 out the door for a new muffler

 

If I remember right he chopped out my stock muffler and welded in the Aeroturbine I have now for $50.

 

He's booked out till next wed. I set the appointment anyways but he never gave me.a price. Muffler King next my house wants $200 just for the pipe

 

$165 also included the muffler which was $70 or so by itself. His prices are really good

 

Maybe ill throw in a muffler as well... why not...
