Does anybody know who would win in this fight?

I got a 3" lift and don't want to encounter the day I need to hike up and change a tire and the stock jack won't help.

    Opinions? ...cost $.2 cents

    It's the wife's T4R so it's stock
Hi-lift would win... your nerf bars would bend I reckon... plus they're only mounted to the body which isn't a good structural point for lifting your truck.

Bars lose. They will bend, your truck won't move an inch.

Think up some lift points(sliders, bumper) or carry a piece of 6x6 around with you.

Your nerf bars will lose and damage the body of the truck.

I had a feelin nerf bars wouldn't stand a chance. I agree about the 6x6 tho my concern with that method is having to be on level ground

Get a bottle jack. With a high lift you won't get the tires off the ground unless you strap the suspension.

I have 3" lift in the back and about 2.5" in front. Change tires with factory bottle jack just fine. Just jack from the proper point and you'll be fine no matter how much lift or droop (hint: the axle and not the frame).

    Are you sure about that?
I'm lifted and my 48" hi lift can get my front or rear wheels off the ground jacking from my sliders.

The axle trick may work because the lower contact point ...depending on how long your suspension travels

It always works because it compresses your suspension. It isn't just the lower contact point - you are lifting from the unsprung point.

Got you! From that point your compressing the suspension to get the tire up. Thanks for your 2 cents

And you are unloading the suspension on that side. Its fine for level ground but can get very sketchy on the trail.

Level ground myself, used it to lift the front wheels off the ground to change my brakes. 2nd gen prerunner with maxtrac spindles and coilovers ~ 5 or 6" of lift in the front.
Have used it once on a 1st gen prerunner with solo spindles and coilovers, jacked off the front bumper for an emergency repair on the trail. Any trail use can be sketchy if you're on a hill or off camber. Best to try and move to flat ground not so much for jack length but more stability of the truck.

I'm not being too aggressive in diameter and I like pizza cutters so just a LT235/85R16 which in the KO2 is a 31.7" diameter tire. Of course regardless of where you jack you'll need an extra 0.5" for each additional 1" of diameter over stock you go!

I have a 3" lift and used the factory bottle jack just a few weeks ago in the middle of a violent rain storm to change a rear tire and yah, I did get the job done but that was the day I started making plans for a Hi-lift and sliders.
